J.R. Richards is a freelance documentary filmmaker and television producer specializing in media focused on beer, wine, food, and travel. J.R. worked with Michael Jackson from 2003-2006, producing video tastings and short documentaries for Michael's Rare Beer Club. Not wanting to compete with Michael on the beer front, but inspired by The Beer Hunter, he started his own documentary series called "The Wine Travelers", which aired on cable station Life TV UK and has been featured on several wine websites, including Apple/Nomad Editions iPad mag "Uncorked". J.R. has shot and/or edited projects for a diverse range of clients, including Plum TV Sun Valley, Tony Robbins, The Aspen Food and Wine Festival, The Vineyard Wine Club, The Kuleto Estate, Sebastiani Vineyards, Three Ten Main Restaurant, and Elkhorn Goldfields. Currently J.R. is the music director and assistant editor of the feature-length documentary, "The Sun Valley Story." An avid home brewer, he lives in Ketchum, Idaho, with his wife Ali, and works part-time at the recently-opened Sawtooth Brewery, where he gets to talk about beer for hours on end.

Thanks Debbie, I just checked it out. If we can find a couple co-sponsors, I'd love to make the trip down to Austin and film some of the beer scene and some interviews. It definitely figures large on Michael's U.S. beer trail, and it'd be great to get a bit of it in the movie and into the DVD extras as its own little episode. Just pledged what I can! Even though you already hit your goal it would be nice to see it keep climbing to get the best quality we can to honor this man. I'm a homebrewer stationed in Germany currently and it's going to be so great to see some more footage of him at some of the bars that I have also visited. Can't wait for the film!

RR - love your gumption. Everyone on this thread is going VIP to the world premier. Pick a state, let me know, and go for it. We all have our little universe, and 22 days to go. It will catch like a flame. I'm up in Idaho and the Northwest, so I can keep hitting up the frontier this way. I also lived in Colorado for 18 years so I can blanket that state. Anyone else? Lorenzo Dabove is covering Italy, but besides him, no one has stepped forward yet on the international front. This is not a profit venture - this is a tribute. Rooster, where are you located? We will get it done. Thanks for the fire.
Guys, we need to go gang busters here. All out every day to every brewery, brewpub, beer bar, beer store, beer distributor, beer group, beer rag, etc. Word has to spread like wild fire or this is just not going to happen. An all out blitz on all social networks has to be done. Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Blogger. Make it happen. We HAVE to make the people behind breweries, brewpub, beer bars, etc KNOW this project is happening. I can not believe if they know they at the very LEAST would not donate. This is THE BEER HUNTER we are talking about here. How any beer lover could not rally for HIM? It is beyond me.
This is a great film project in the honor of a great man. How could I stand by and not donate to the 'reason' I have the beer selection I'm accustomed to today?
