Today, I put my Dad's Frame Handle in the mail, and you know what that means! The very last Frame Handle reward. We have fulfilled every single one of the rewards.

We have sent out all the longer belts, and all the unique and custom $100 Frame Handles (check out the pretty laser engraving we were able to do on the custom handles, in partnership with Toast Made.)

Large Frame Handle Belt Update: All of the longer Frame Handle belts have been sent out. We've gotten a couple new requests in the past few days, and will continue to honor belt exchanges for all Kickstarter backers.

$100 Rewards Update: Half of the $100 rewards have been sent to their backers. All of the remaining $100 rewards (except one) need laser-engraved artwork, and we've sent the artwork for approval to the backers. This is going to be a fun venture into the world of laser-engraving, it gets my mind reeling about other things we could do....

Then there's that one last $100 Frame Handle...my dad's. He made me promise his would be last, so we already know the ending to this adventure! You're first in my book, Dad, but last on the Kickstarter list!

Holidays and Moving Forward: As we finish up the last little bit of the rewards, we're also starting to get ready for the holiday season. If you've taken a look at our website and are thinking about holiday gifts, please consider ordering early this year, we think it's going to be a busy one. We will announce a cut-off ordering date for Christmas orders in early December.

Hello there!

Update: All of the standard-sized ($30, $43, and $50 reward) Frame Handles have been shipped!

Next up: $100 custom Frame Handles, and longer replacement belts for large-sized bikes. We're running about 2 weeks behind schedule, and we currently expect these to ship by mid-October. For those of you with custom artwork, we will be contacting you for artwork approval before going to the laser engraver.

Frame Handles are now available online on both of our online stores: walnutstudiolo.com and walnutstudiolo.etsy.com.

One important lesson we learned from the Kickstarter backers is that not all bike tubes are alike. We designed the Frame Handle to fit road bike frames with a 1-1.5" diameter (which fit the majority of Kickstarter backers' bikes), but thanks to the feedback from several patient backers, we were able to get a representative sample of data on the sizes of everyone's bike tubing, which ranged from 3" circumference to 8.5"! This helped us come up with a simplified sizing system, which is explained below.

Regular? Large? Extra-Large? Sizing, explained. We are making both "Regular" and "Large" fittings available for the same price. The "Regular" size works for most bicycles, which accommodates tubing diameters from appx. 1” to 1.75” (circumference appx. 3 1/8" - 5"). "Large" is available upon request for larger bike tube diameters (such as mountain bikes), with tube diameters from appx. 1.5" to 2.5" (circumference: 4.75" - 8"). For "Extra-Large" bike tubes (over 8" circumference), we will make custom-sized Frame Handles for a small additional charge.

Kickstarters with Larger Bike Tubes: We will send you a free longer replacement belt so your Frame Handle will fit your bike. If you haven't written us already, please shoot us an email at walnutstudiolo@gmail.com with the number, color, and size needed. We will be sending out a follow-up email to everyone who needs a longer belt within a couple weeks to confirm details before shipping. We're getting closer and closer to finishing up the rewards.

• The Backer Thank-You page is up and running on our website: http://walnutstudiolo.com/pages/backers

• The black Frame Handles are 2/3 out the door, and Geoff and Jayce are finishing them up at the same time they started rolling the first batches of honey and dark brown Frame Handles off the line. We'll be doing the next shipping party on Wednesday, and we hope to completely finish the $30, $43, and $50 rewards at that time!

• Next up, will be the $100 rewards and the longer belts for those few with larger bike tubes. Thank you to everyone for sending the larger bike tube measurements! If you find your frame handle doesn't fit around your bike tube, please send us an email at walnutstudiolo@gmail.com with the circumference of both bike tubes, and we will follow up with larger belts once we've gotten all the rewards out.

Hey there!

We've been living, breathing, eating and sleeping Frame Handles ever since the project successfully funded on July 7th. Geoff's been in the workshop making them with a helper, and I've been in the office, doing the logistics and responding to questions. We've been so immersed, in fact, that Geoff's dad put a frame handle on my birthday cake! The Dessert Tray in Beaverton even made it with realistic looking buckles and rivets. We were pretty impressed with the fondant version, but sadly, it did not make lifting the cake easier. 

Some of you have been getting shipping notifications but haven't received your frame handles yet.  If this describes you - don't worry! I printed out most of the postage in anticipation of a shipping party last week, but not all of them have been shipped yet. We have a couple weeks more of shipments to make, so please stay patient with us, we expect to have most everyone's in the mail by the end of the month, with the exception of custom orders.

We've been getting some great feedback from people who have already gotten their Frame Handles. Jennie said, "I'm loving my frame handle! I've been using it for about three weeks now, and it really does make a difference! Thanks again!"

This made our day, thank you, Jennie!

There are also some bicycles where the frame handle didn't fit one or more of their bike frame tubes. We are working on a solution for these bikes, with more to come after we've fulfilled all the Kickstarter rewards. We designed it to fit bike frames with a 1-1.5" tube diameter, believing that to be the most common bike size out there, but it is so difficult to create a universal bicycle accessory.
