The Village Reclamation Festival is a 10-day celebration where citizens, neighbors, and communities can engage with each other through hands-on activities that support our collective triple-bottom line: 

Earth Care, People Care, and Fair Share.

We seek to enliven the Spaces in between Places through wall murals, community gardens, sculpture, education and performance.

Please consider supporting us this summer for one full week of catalyst community projects taking place in three distinct Minneapolis neighborhoods:

PEOPLE CARE. In the Elliot Park neighborhood, we will utilize the tools of large-scale mural making to honor the multiple cultures that reside in this historic neighborhood.

• Wall Mural that combines the textural patterns of the diverse ethnic groups in the neighborhood with traditional motifs that preserve the rich history of Minneapolis' oldest neighborhood.
• Special Guest Presentation: Mark Lakeman, co-founder of CIty Repair in Portland, OR.

EARTH CARE. In the Phillips neighborhood, we will work to transform a city block through permaculture design, and adaptive reuse to leave functional beauty in our wake.

• Root Cellar Workshop

• Vermiculture Workshop

FAIR SHARE. In the Seward neighborhood, we will use an ancient building technique that uses clay, sand, straw and water to craft a form that is as sculptural as it is structural.

We'll gather together as strangers with a common vision and leave as friends with shared experiences.
