Kickstarter

"Jordan" wants to go to London. He is a 36" x 36" oil painting. "Jordan" wants to show 'em what he's got against the best portraits in the World. The BP Portrait Award is the most prestigious portrait competition on the planet, and offers fantastic awards and exposure. (See more at http://www.npg.org.uk/whatson/exhibitions/bp-portrait-award-2010/the-exhibition1.php) Just to be included in this competition is a huge honor, and to win an award can make an artist's career. (Only 60 paintings out of approx. 1900 are even accepted to exhibit). If chosen, "Jordan" will be displayed at the National Portrait Gallery, London, from 24 June to 19 September 2010 and then in 2010-11 will tour to the Usher Gallery, Lincoln (September - November 2010) and Aberdeen Art Gallery (27 November 2010 - 22 January 2011).

In order to get to London, "Jordan" will have to be properly crated up and shipped, which will cost just under $600. This is my initial "kickstarter" goal. Any funds raised above the initial $600 will either go towards bringing him home if he is not selected, (he will have to be shipped back home at my expense) or, if I am short-listed for an award, I have to be in London for the award ceremony, and the funds will go towards shipping me off to London.

Rewards! Pledges will receive a signed 11 x 14 print of "Jordan" (image 10 x 10) for a pledge of $30-50: a 16 x 20 print (image 15 x 15) for $50-75: a 20 x 30 print for a pledge of $75-100. Pledges of $100-300 get a signed, limited edition giclee' print, and pledges over $300 will receive an original painting (the greater the pledge, the bigger the painting, starting at 6" x 6")! A pledge of ANY amount will get a classy little card with a signed image of "Jordan". BEST OF ALL...if I should WIN the top BP Portrait prize, everyone will be paid back in full, and keep all the rewards!
