Project update:  We hit our initial goal!  Thanks to all our backers for their support.  Hopefully we will be able to reach our stretch goal of $60,000 so we can get our kitchen and bring our product further around the country!

TorchBearer Sauces: Accidentally Healthy, Intentionally Delicious™:  Friends and family making the best sauces on earth

TorchBearer Sauces is a family run company, started by me (Vid Lynch), Ben Smith, Tim Wortman, and my parents (Tom and Pat Lynch).  From that time, our family has grown to include a close network of friends and family doing everything from the sales and production to the label design and web programming.   

We started TorchBearer Sauces 7 years ago and we create and make our line in small batches in a kitchen we rent. We have more than 20 incredible sauces including BBQ sauce, garlic sauces, hot sauces and marinades. We think they’re delicious and so do the critics--after all we have won over 50 national awards for our products.

Why we need YOUR help!

We’ve outgrown our current space and we are having a hard time keeping up with demand. We’ve been searching for locations and have found most of the equipment we would need to expand our business. We have lined up sales with more retail, boutique stores and restaurants but we need more inventory.  What we need is to be able to make bigger batches, so we can keep up with production demands. We need Kickstarter to help us make the first batches of our best sellers at the new kitchen so TorchBearer can be available at a store near you to enjoy.

Our Goals:

• At $16,000, Kickstarter will allow us to make a full pallet of each of our best sellers and give us the inventory to expand our retail market further around the country.
• At $60,000 (our first stretch goal), we will be able to fund our kitchen expansion fully from Kickstarter.
• At $120,000 (our second stretch goal), we will be able to do all of the above and hire one or two of our people full time!

The reason for our mad obsession...

We started making sauces because we loved the heat, but we hated the flavor of the hot sauces and BBQ sauces that were available. They all taste the same!!  When we started looking into it, we found out that’s because most products are all vinegar, water and high fructose corn syrup. So when we started our own line, we decided to do it the right way, the all natural way. 

But having a line of great quality products can still leave room for having a fun, too, as you can see from this ad spot we put together about our Zombie Apocalypse sauce.

All Natural, local and delicious

Check out some of the delicious ingredients in our sauces: carrot, onions, diced garlic, mandarin oranges, tomato, mango, papaya, honey, molasses chipotle peppers, habanero, ghost chilis, Trinidad scorpion peppers, black beans, corn, green pepper, brown sugar, lemon juice, lime juice! This is how a sauce label should read--you can pronounce every ingredient.

In fact, all of TorchBearer Sauces are gluten free, low in calories, carbs, sodium and fat, no cholesterol and are all vegetarian. Everyone in the company uses our sauces daily, on pretty much everything they eat. That is how much we love them. We bring them with us to parties, to restaurants, and even when visiting friends.

We also believe in helping our local community. It’s hard out there right now and we want to do whatever we can to help out. We buy any ingredients and packaging we can locally or from the US.  Even our hottest peppers come from a local farmer in Pennsylvania.

We are a family run company and we consider our community part of our family. We try our best to help people in our area who are out of work. We are creating jobs for our booths at festivals, craft fairs, and kiosks in the malls during Christmas and even in the kitchen making TorchBearer sauces. They have become a big part of our company and our family. We wouldn’t be where we are today without the help and support of the community. 

The people who work with TorchBearer at shows and production are the lifeblood of this company.  One of our goals is to hire a few of them full time. This is part of the reason why a project like this is so important. Eventually we plan to have a facility in the Harrisburg area and we hope the company will grow to employ a lot more people.
