About this project
The Austin, Texas based Dark Metal Anomaly known as Vesperian Sorrow is about to release their fourth full length album "Stormwinds of Ages" independently through already secured lines of distribution. We are here on Kickstarter.com to ask our fans and friends to help us acquire the funds that we need to manufacture the CDS and be able to market them properly within the metal community. Like mentioned before, we have a distribution deal with a record label secure, however we are responsible for all costs including manufacturing, PR, and marketing. This is a better deal for the band as we are able to retain the rights of our music with us, and be able to properly market the band to be able to take our career to the next level. Most small metal record labels these days keep the rights to a bands music and poorly market them receiving dismal sales, and usually pushing the bands career down the proverbial toilet. We aim to change this common form of band disaster and release our album ourselves. We also aim to garner more respect and sales within the metal community, while keeping the responsibility of our careers firmly in our own hands.
As you will notice to the right of the screen, there are many incentives to helping us reach our goal. Everything from autographed CDS, Posters, Digital Downloads of the album, live events, music lessons, and even recording time at our very own Amplitude Media Studio. Considered the premiere symphonic dark metal band in North America,
Vesperian Sorrow's music evokes the darkest depths of searing human
tragedy juxtaposed with soaring heights of orchestrated, symphonic
melody.
Their undeniable songwriting and passion sets them apart in their
genre. In addition to two full-length albums released by Holland's
Displeased Records, Vesperian Sorrow has been featured on four
compilation albums as well, including Metalblade's "Blackend V".
Their third offering, "Regenesis Creation", was self-released on their
independent label “Underscape”.
Their latest album “Stormwinds of Ages” is now complete, and being
kept under wraps until a suitable record deal can be reached. The album
features guest appearances by Jason McMasters (Watchtower,
Dangerous Toys), and Carl August Tidemann (Winds, Arcturus). All
album art was created by Jon Zig.
Since their inception in 1998, they have toured Europe, and North
America playing shows and festivals in Germany, Czech Republic,
England, Canada, Mexico, and most of the states in the US.
