About this project
I love making music. My favorite aspects of being a musician are the parts of the process where I get to call myself "songwriter" and "recording artist." Luckily for me, writing songs doesn't cost a penny. It's the recording of those songs that plunders the shallow depths of my jean pockets.
That's why I'm using Kickstarter to fund the recording of my latest album. My standards of musical quality require more than what GarageBand or a bedroom studio can offer. For me, an album's character is established from the moment the first note is captured, and I like the character music takes on when made in a recording studio (the kind that charges for time by the hour).
I know that your standards are similarly high, because I'm blessed with a large, loving community of friends who like to share their thoughts and feelings on music. These opinions are always swirling around us - in one-on-one conversation, online or on crowded street corners. And they all say the same things: We respect honesty. We expect art to remind us of the joys and aches of life. We are all unique, but we're also drawn to each others' undeniable sameness. And, above all else, we want to come together and better understand love.
These are the makings of my latest batch of songs - my gifts for you. If you'll take a leap of faith in my album and assist in its funding, I'm prepared to give you so much more than just the music. After achieving my fundraising goal, I'll begin recording the as-yet-unnamed #NewVeshecco album at Full Tilt Productions in Mechanicsburg, PA with a projected December 2011 release of physical CDs and digital media.
