An all vegan bakery coming to ohio needs your help getting equipment and supplies to make a veg head out of everyone!

Hello everyone! 

My name is Derek Wytzka and I am the owner and baker of Veg'n Out Cafe, an all vegan bakery that will be located in Berea Ohio. Thank you for stopping by and for considering my project.



My story begins last year when I decided to put my talent and knowledge to good use and create an establishment that isn't around every corner. I am usually better at making pastries than with words, but I hope you will enjoy the rewards I have created if you decide to become one of our backers. I started my own business, Veg'n Out Cafe, in 2012 after a few years of experiments with different organic ingredients, flavor and color combinations. I love working with my hands and offering products for people that may not get to indulge in many sweets due to their restricted lifestyles. I have been baking ever since I was allowed to use the oven and have been developing my skills ever since. When I became a vegetarian due to intolerance to some meat and dairy products I funneled this new challenge into my baking and became efficient in creating vegan pastries. It was a challenge. I had to learn a new way to think and experiment, but it was fun and the rewards are priceless!

I then decided that it was time to bring my baking to the local community and I was overwhelmed with the great feedback that I had been getting. People couldn't even taste the difference and I had begun to gain recognition around my community. People began to tell me to set up my own shop, so I started to look for a place to bring my bakery to life. After searching for a while and not finding that right place that offered me what I needed I was approached by my old college and said they might have a place that I could set up my shop. It was a local church that was looking for someone to rent a vacant space to help not only pull in revenue for the church but get the community involved and I jumped at this amazing opportunity.

Our starting location! It had exactly what I was looking for AND was close to my college Baldwin Wallace University where I graduated from. We are set to open in January of 2013 and could not be more excited! We are now in the process of obtaining funds to get the last of our equipment needed to make our pastries on a daily basis and we need your help! By donating we can be one step closer to make this all a reality. 

 My plans for the donated money is to purchase: 

  •  a new fridge and freezer for the new location 
  • new spring form cake pans 
  • a refrigerated and dry display case 
  • new to go boxes and bags with our new logo on it
  • a few extra supplies and ingredients and so much more! 

We offer a specialty item in a specific niche, and we are confident that this new location will be a thriving success. I am working currently by myself with a few helpful friends who volunteer from time to time and created an excellent, supportive company that will help place my product in the market. I am confident that in the next few months, with your help, we can go from kitchen bakery to a successful company!

Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter

Some risk and challenges that present itself is basically the stigma the word "vegan" and "vegetarian" have when it come to talking about food. When sampling my product to others they always had a weary look in their eyes when I said it was 100% vegan but they were shocked and amazed on how good it taste without any dairy products in it. I am confident that once people get past the stigma of these words and actually try a product of mine, Veg'n Out Cafe will be a booming success.

Once the funds are obtained from this site we just need to purchase the necessary products and move them into our company. The only thing preventing us from obtaining this goal is the outreach of this site to others. Without proper outreach we will not get anywhere and I hope that everyone who views this page will send this on to people you know even if you feel like this does not apply to you at all. You are taking a step in making my ultimate dream come true.
