About this project
What do I want to do?
I want to create a diverse product range for my 2011 Fall/Winter collection. I need the kickstarter community help so that I can produce the items cost effectively.
How am I going to do it?
By producing a healthy volume of each item so that I can market the items to stores that are currently carrying my brand so that they can carry these new items in their stores as well.
What is the money for?
The money is to help me produce the right volume of my different items at a price that is attractive to the stores carrying my brand and prospective storefronts as well.
Here are mock ups from some of the items that I will be making for the collection. And according to how much you donate you can get one of these items with your name inscribed on the neck label.

"Heart" the essence of my brand printed on a soft heather grey v neck.

"Fait avec courage" is french for "Made with courage" printed on a clean white v neck.

"Division Intrépides" is french for "Fearless Division" which is significant to me because starting a clothing brand was my biggest fear. Now that I have I feel fearless.
Here are pictures and a video of some of the items I have made in the past to give you an idea of the quality and kinds of items that I make.

In the beginning of high school I was always made fun of for my bad taste in clothing. It was an everyday occurrence and I decided I wanted to change things. I wanted to be known for something other than my poor clothing choices. During my senior year of college, I was the president a fraternity club called Omicron Pi Sigma (OPS). I decided to design a t-shirt for the club in the spring of 2008, and before I graduated, dozens of people were wearing those shirts around campus. I loved designing t-shirts and wanted to sell my designs, but the odds seemed stacked against me. Lacking the courage to begin my own brand, I dismissed the idea.
The spark that started the Vaughn de Heart bonfire was an extremely unlikely coincidence that didn't happen until a year after I had graduated from college. On May 22, 2009, I was visiting a mall in southern California, hundreds of miles away from my university. While I was walking around the mall dressed in the shirt I had designed, I saw a person out of the corner of my eye, wearing what appeared to be that same OPS t-shirt. As I got closer, I realized it was indeed a guy wearing the OPS shirt, but I did not recognize him as a student from the university. I approached him and asked, "Hey, where did you get that shirt?" "I bought it at a thrift store," he said. Then I asked: "Do you know where it is from, and what it is?" He replied: "No, I just liked the design, so I bought it." I let him know I was the designer and he told me he wears the shirt all the time and that people regularly ask him about the design.
I needed courage in the beginning, something extra to push me towards the edge. What I got instead was a shove. I’ve gone from being the kid in high school who was laughed at for what he wore, to the guy that sells his clothing all over the world. This is my experiment in courage and I hope you will be part of it.
