About this project
Two guys at Brown University were inspired to make Dutch waffle cookies also known as 'stroopwafels'. That's us: Erik & Abhishek. We're both seniors at Brown and started our company over 2 years ago. What started in a college dorm kitchen has now grown into our cookie business; Van Wafels LLC. These cookies are hand crafted and consist of two wafer thin waffles layers filled with freshly brewed caramel. Our waffle cookies contain natural ingredients and no preservatives. (see Biography on the right hand side)
We are currently in the process of taking cookie production to the next level. However, in order to do so we are in need of your help. To purchase the necessary machinery we need to raise a minimum of $3000.
Any donation would be a great help, even just $1. We're looking to really raise the money we need to push this further along and try and supply Van Wafels all over Providence, the Northeast, entire East Coast, West Coast and finally the whole country!

FYI- Stroopwafels are waffle cookies filled with caramel. These delicious 'things' originated from The Netherlands in the 19th century. They have now been re-invented by Van Wafels.
The Story:
One rainy autumn day in 2008 Erik and I (Abhishek) decided to give stroopwafel cookie making a real go. With a waffle iron in hand and no clue what to do or how to proceed, the process of randomized waffle cookie experimentation began. Trial and error for a year and a half finally lead to the invention of our very own delicious stroopwafel recipe. In fact, Brown students and staff both loved our cookies so much that we set up a waffle cookie sale to see if the we were actually on to something.
We realized our cookies were special and we thought what the heck?...Let's become The Waffle Cookie Company!...and that is how Van Wafels was born.
Fast forwarding to the present, we are now out and about delivering our cookies to cafes in Providence.
