The 24 hour children's book giveaway is over (see previous post) and now you can watch me pull the name of the winning backer out of a hat live on ustream at 4pm today. Check it out!
What did you guys think? Should I do another one of these? What kind of items would be more interesting for a giveaway?
UPDATE: And the winner is...
This project successfully raised its funding goal on October 3, 2009.
A full-res digital download of the film.
(everything above +) A DVD of the film
(everything above +) A DVD with a signed, hand-made cover
(a digital download & DVD +) An original film-themed painting and an Executive Producer credit in the film.
Has not connected their Facebook account.
Animation! Also: strong coffee, music from the guts and long stretches of awkward silence.
It depends on if I win the book or not. :)
How about doing something to your hair if some goal is met (cut it, dye it) -- unless of course that is where your creative power comes from.
The upside is that it would also serve as additional marketing and make everyday conversations an opportunity to get new backers.
Them: "Vance, your hair is orange. Why?"
You: "I am working on a short animated film and am raising pledges to complete the project. I set a goal that if people pledged $250 in 2 days, I'd dye my hair orange. And they did! I am still looking for backers. Want to help out?"
I know. Its an awful idea. But you asked.
P.S. Will there be a special "backer only" showing of the film when its all done?
Alright so i totally missed the contest! Bummer huh? Although i doubt family is allowed..... that would have seemed a little fishy to have a reeser in the mix.
What about a painting of something small..... i don't know, like those landscape ones you did for christmas a few years ago. What about a random painting of stuff that you had on the wall in the under ground place?
