UST is a black box theatre that is transforming Downtown Danville, VA. Uniting the Community and Inspiring Youth through the Arts!

The Union Street Theatre is seeking to raise $8,000.00 in pledged donations to help support our Summer 2012 Main Stage Season.  We are planning to produce three Main Stage shows, including Grease, Once on This Island, Jr. and Songs for a New World (titles are tentative). The performers, musicians, and staff for our planned season are volunteers, and the participants in our expanded Youth Leadership Program will supplement many of our staff positions. Our season will cost well over the $8,000 we are asking for in donations, but we plan to make up the remainder through ticket sales, sponsorship and program advertising.

What your pledge will help cover:
  • Licensing and rental costs for our three UST Main Stage productions
  • Raised seating to improve the overall experience for the audience
  • Production costs for sets, costumes, props, lighting, and sound
  • Utilities and rental of the theatre space
  • Advertising

The title for our second show, Once on This Island, Jr. has been finalized and was chosen by a community vote. This production will be the culmination of our 2 week Youth Professional Camp, and will feature the most advanced kids in our area, ages 7-17. The other two shows are open to all ages, and are not a part of our summer camps. There is no fee to participate in either production, and all participants must volunteer.

    Sorry, Kickstarter only supports credit card payments through Amazon. You are welcome to donate money directly to the theatre, but it will not affect this project.
