Inspired by Captain Kirk to be bold, I decided to launch my own open source electronics company after leading a team in robotics competitions for Virginia Tech.
There's a NEW version of this project - one that hopefully will be successful....
and also with much better rewards! I learned a lot from the feedback I got on the previous project, and so without further ado:

There's also a new add-on: a wireless XBee serial radio! The add-on supports all the variants including Pro. These babies support mesh networking, AES encryption, addressing, kilometer ranges and much much more.
Even if you had previously pledged just a few dollars and didn't get anything as a reward, check what's available this time around because it could get you something!

Needs a killer app.
Like, using this as a controller for controlling Xmas lights, tuned to music.
Needs a brain, remote solid state on/off relay switches.
Use this kickstarter project to sponsor the next one, use my idea for free. Current solutions out there are quite tedious and need a dedicated PC.
Build enclosures that can go outside, plug away. Timing is right for Xmas 2012.
Since these are boxes going outside, no need for miniaturization.
