Kickstarter

My plan is simple. I want to take my Untouched Poetry project on the road, or rather, rails. Traveling by train with my 30 day travel pass I want to stop in every city I can get to in 30 days, starting in Denver and heading east, then back west. With help from google and locals I meet I will post up at every farmers market, festival, or popular pedestrian spot I can find with my vintage typewriter (who I call Jolene) and write poems for strangers. Most of the time it will be based on a request, but other times it will be a surprise samurai poem attack. All of these poems will be photographed by me, and a memo will be made about the person and the experience I encounter with them. Throughout my experience I will be journaling and doing my best to capture this adventure with words. When I arrive home after my travels I plan on putting together a collection of my poems that I wrote, the people I wrote them for, and the moments I shared with them. I want to include the poems I compose while traveling solo from point A to Z, and everywhere between. I will include details about my self reflection and what it means to be alone and exploring. All of this put together in a compilation and a loose recreating of a post-modern version of "On The Road" by my favorite author Jack Kerouac.
