The Urban Institute of Contemporary Arts is celebrating its 35th Anniversary this year in a new location, located on the busiest intersection in Grand Rapids, MI. The Film Theatre is a vital part of UICA's cutting-edge and innovative programming history, presenting over 60 foreign, independent and documentary films each year that can't be seen anywhere else in West Michigan!

With the move to our new space last year, we lost the ability to show anything but digital films! Our patrons rely on us for versatile programming, which means embracing not only digital movies, but also the quality, integrity and history of films that only exist in 35-millimeter format. We need to raise funds to purchase and re-install a 35-mm projector in our new theatre so we can ensure the vibrant programming variety our patrons expect. Further, this flexibility will allow us to more easily support and promote the next generation of filmmakers and film-lovers.

If our campaign is successful, we plan to begin showing 35mm film beginning in February 2013 with a Classic Film Series.

• Refurbished 35mm projector
• 3 lenses
• Film platter system
• Make-up table
• Reels, splicers, supplies
• Professional Installation
