There's no limitation on the amount that can be raised for the project. Any further funds will go directly towards mastering the album (which will cost as much, if not more than this suit).
The album should be done in a few weeks, and the video will happen this summer.
I'm an electronic musician in NYC. After years of one-off tracks, I'm completing work on my first album. It's best described as space inspired lounge music meets lounge inspired space music.
The album is 12 tracks long and will be distributed completely free digitally.
Since the only visual element of record distribution left is the album cover, I'm going for the perfect image. I found this image online, and fell in love with it.

It's almost perfect. My aim is to recreate this photo, using myself and a nord modular synthesizer instead of a baseball glove. (This composite is crudely mocked up in photoshop in the picture you see above) The hurdle is that renting a replica Apollo moon suit costs $1500. That is the goal of my fundraising project.
The minimum rental is a week, so of course we'd also use the suit to shoot a music video. I have professional cinematographers on board, and we have access to all the equipment we need at no cost, save the space suit. We'd be making a video to the track "memories of home" an early mix of which can be heard here
Memories of Home
It will feature striking landscape shots around NYC with the spaceman intercut with performance inside of an awesome synthesizer space ship cockpit, full of synths, knobs, buttons, and blinkenlights, all shot in huge format on a RED camera.
