UPDATE 11/2/11
Oh, man!  We made our goal with two days to spare.  Thanks to the 325+ people who declared publicly, "I Support Two Man Music!".  Friends, you still  have time to hop on board the two-man music train to reserve an advance copy of the album (on CD, LP, or mp3) and all the other limited edition kKickstarter-exclusive stuff.  Oh, man!

Dear Friends, 
We here in The Two Man Gentlemen Band are quite fond of the sound and the feel of older records.  So we've decided to make a new record of our own just like they used to, before too much fancy pants technology got involved.  Hot, analog, two man music!  Wanna help?  Yes?  Excellent!

OUR GOAL: To record, design, manufacture, and package a full length album (our 7th!) without the use of computers.  

Not that we Gentlemen dislike computers.  We love 'em!  The Councilman went to computer camp in sixth grade (ask him about it!).  Andy Bean has an iPhone.  The band has a handsome website.  But, we've decided to keep 'em as far away from the making of this record as we can.  We think it'll sound and look better that way. 

Now, before you blurt out some variation of "Wait a second! You're raising money for this on a computer!" we recognize and embrace the irony of an internet fundraising campaign for an all analog project.  Computers are good for that sort of thing.  They're also good for computer camp, which The Councilman attended in sixth grade.  

The end result of this undertaking will be a super-sounding full length album featuring 11 to 15 new songs composed and performed in our signature two man style, presented in exquisitely handsome custom packaging.  We'll release it first on limited edition 12" vinyl and shortly after on CD and digital download.  We'll probably have to use computers for the CD and digital download portions, but we're fine with that if you are.        

OUR TEAM: We've enlisted the services of a varsity team of experts to help us make it happen.  We'll record live to analog tape at Old Soul Studios in Catskill, NY and send the master reels off to United Record Pressing in Nashville, TN where they'll turn it into a deluxe 12" vinyl record.  Stumptown Printers in Portland, OR will help us design and print the LP and CD packaging on their giant vintage printing machines.  All album photography will be done on medium format and 35mm film by the stupendously talented Punam Bean.

ABOUT THE COST:  Predictably, doing things the old fashioned way costs a little more money and takes a bit more time.  Our goal of $14,000 will allow us to record and manufacturer the project.  At the risk of sounding dramatic, we simply will not be able to complete this project in the foreseeable future unless we can meet our minimum goal.  Every penny beyond $14K will go towards the one thing our humble two-man band needs above all else: publicity.  So, not only does your contribution help us to make our best record yet, it also helps us spread the word about your beloved Two Man Gentlemen Band.  There are two-man music lovers out there that don't yet know they're two-man music lovers.  Let's find 'em!
