About this project
Loop Rawlins, Tus Michaels (a.k.a. Mike Tushaus), and Karen Cornejo are joining forces to produce a short Western film. It will be an action comedy that will appeal to all audiences and hopes to inspire children of all ages to be re-acquainted with the dying film art that is the Western Movie. How will we do this? With a great amount of work, positive attitude and energy, and an extreme attention to detail in all facets of the film. From costumes to props, to the Old West town itself, everything will be researched and made sure that the period of the late 1800's is represented as close as possible.
The film will also feature the amazing performances of Loop Rawlins, who is an award-winning western performer who can sling a gun and lasso a rope like none other. Between his unique stylings, and the craftsmanship of award-winning producer/filmmakers Tus Michaels and Karen Cornejo, the final product will be exciting, detailed, adventurous, educational, and entertaining.
Michael Su has been signed-on as the films Director and D.P., and will bring his unique flair for action and adventure to the film. With the witty stylings of Stephen Krstulich's writing, the screenplay will be rich with likable and complex characters and inventive storytelling.
Also added to the slate is film score composer, David Isaac. David, who works intimately with Orpheum Music Services, LLC, has written orchestral works performed in Arizona and California by the Tucson Chamber Orchestra, Tucson Pops Orchestra, and members of the Tucson Symphony Orchestra and Los Angeles Philharmonic.
We are also proud to announce 3 key players to our stunt and action team. Joe Ross of Action Factory Stunts and western stuntman Jerry Woods who will be our stunt coordinators. Joe has been seen in Nightmare on Elm Street (2010) and Detroit 187 to name a few. He has coordinated for several projects and also specializes in full-body fire burns which utilizes his company's special burn gel that works without the aid of masks or suits. Jerry specializes in western stunts including high falls and pyrotechnics and has been seen on Good Morning America and several films and television shows and commercials. Our third member will be Joey Dillon who will be our armorer & gun coach for our Western. He is one of the best in the business and has been featured on several television networks including: Discovery channel, History Channel, A&E, and recently on Spike TV's Deadliest Warrior. He has also performed for many celebrities and gun coached Josh Brolin for Jonah Hex. All three of these fine men's expertise will polish the authenticity of our film.
Period props and costumes will be supplied by Will and Kat Cover of Grandpa Snazzy's in Weeping Water, NE. Their high attention to detail and research of the period along with their large stock of period pieces will create a very authentic look and feel to our film.
The period would not be complete without a genuine wild west town. Most of the film will be shot on location at Gammons Gulch in Arizona. Jay and Joanne Gammons have created an entire movie set western town complete with a saloon, church, mine, hotel, and many other buildings that perfectly reflect the look of a true western town in the 1880's.
In order to achieve the film's full integrity, this project needs a very minimum of $5,000 to produce, and really $10,000 to do it right. This is a very low price for such an undertaking, but we have lined-up several resources already that are discounted or free in price.
The film will be shot in the early Spring of 2011 in Arizona, Utah and Nevada. We need your help to raise the $5,000-$10,000+ we need to begin to contract our locations, costumes, props, cast and crew. Your aid will help us create a true western film!
And remember, if we don't raise at least $5,000, we don't do the film and you won't be charged for your donations, so please help us today!!!
