Hi Everyone,

Just seven days left to raise the better part of $7000. I don't know if this can be pulled off or not but one thing is certain - it was a lot of fun trying!

If anyone knows any celebrity tweeters or facebook folks who'd be interested in donating 140 characters or so, that would be a great way to get more exposure.

There are a lot of updates concerning the World of Aruneus.

The Orcs supplement is looking great at 17 pages in length and has a lot more detail and in-game items than I had originally envisioned. This is certainly a good thing! This expansion document will have the Orcs as a playable race, a new Prestige Class, several new beasties, two new magical items and three NPCs available to insert into any campaign.

The first module, The Haunted Mine should be out mid to late july.

I'm working with a first class cartographer (no, honest!) who's doing an atlas style map for the known world which is going to look amazing!

The Gods of Aruneus supplement is starting to take shape and I'll be utilizing the same artist who did all of my zombie artwork which I'm very excited about.

I've got a talented young artist working with me to do an Herbal Supplement. Yes, ha ha. It will feature a number of plants with magical and medicinal uses in-game.

Two new classes are also on the horizon.

And that's just what I've already outlined. Of course there will be about 25 future modules coming out as well as lots of history, flavor and background.

No matter what happens I can say that I LOVE creating this world. If I can't do it all in one go, I'll continue to release PDFs at the rate of two a month or more until I have everything I need to put it all together and release it as an actual book.

The State of the World

So far, there are four completed PDF supplements available for Aruneus, which contain enough information for any GM to introduce a nasty zombie infestation to their world. There is a brief history containing a time of the events leading up to the zombie apocalypse and the 100 years that follow it. There is also a look into the Order of the White Cloth and the state of magic users in the world. Lastly, there are zombie cards for tracking your undead hordes.

That’s what exists so far. What’s coming soon? All of the following are in some stage of development, meaning there’s thousands of words written, original artwork coming in and you can expect to see these within the next 30 – 90 days:

* The Orcs - a supplement that introduces the Orcs as a people in the world and as a player character race, as well as a few new beasts and goodies to go with them.
* The Haunted Mine - the first in a long series of modules that will bring a party of 3-6 1st level characters through to much higher levels, all within Aruneus.
* Masks of Magic and More – at least 12 new magical items.
* Herbology – Introduction of a new set of skills, feats and a number of plants and their various uses.
* The Gods of Aruneus – an expanded look at the Pantheon of Aruneus.
* A complete History of Aruneus – including a beautiful full page map and lots of background flavor for campaigns in the form of NPCs, items, lore and more.

While all of these are being created, I’ll also be planning the rest of the campaign, more detailed maps, new feats and skills, a new class, modules bringing characters through first level to higher levels and everything else that goes into a large source book.

I’ve invested a lot of my heart and soul into this project – none of which I regret. I’ve learned a ton and I’m finally doing something that many would consider work but which I find to be an absolute pleasure. If I could do this as my day job, I would be there in a heartbeat.

Announcement! The Orcs are coming! June 15th is the publication date of The World of Aruneus - The Orcs. This publication will contain all you need to play an Orc as a player character. Also, the Hram (Orc Horse), the Penumbral Ambulator and a few other goodies!

To celebrate, take a look at one of the Orcs of Aruneus! (shown below) This is a work in progress and does not represent what the final artwork will look like. It's still pretty freaking cool though!

Our first module for the official campaign, The Haunted Mine will be premiering at KantCon! http://kantcon.com/v2/ We're on the official docket with slots for 3-5 people. This is a 1st level module introducing the player characters to the World of Aruneus and will also utilize our previously released Contagion Infected Human Zombies and Zombie Cards publications.

The session will run in Slot 2 (1pm to 5pm) on Sunday, July 11th and is open for 3 -5 players. Interested in playing? Go to the Registration Page and sign up! KantCon was first conceived in 2009 as a gathering of like-minded gaming hobbyists who couldn’t get away from the Kanas City area to the various gaming conventions being held across the country. Several organizers of KantCon had been regulars to such conventions as Gen Con, Dragon Con, and others, but, due to circumstances beyond their control, they couldn’t con that year.

Thus, KantCon was born. A small, local convention for gamers who can’t regularly make it to conventions anywhere in the country.

KantCon was originally held in the residence of one of the founders of the Gamer’s Haven, but we quickly outgrew those confines as word about the convention grew, and membership in the Gamer’s Haven swelled. Now, KantCon is on its way to becoming a premier event for Gamer’s Haven members and gamers in general each year, and is growing larger with each step it takes.

Finally, the campaign is progressing nicely. Not only will it premier at KantCon, but it should be ready for publication shortly after. I've teamed up with Black Falcon Games http://blackfalcongames.com/ to take a crack at encounter maps and I'm very excited!
