Photo-main

After his mother's death, Matt meets a strange girl named Angela, who invites him into her space ship.

The Treehouse is a story very close to me (me being the writer (the writer being A.J. Sheeran)). My childhood was a battle between two opposing forces: My desire to fit in and my desire to be a rebellious outcast. Hence, the characters: Matt, the boy who wants blend with the crowd, and Angela, the girl who keeps to herself because the crowd has pushed her out. This story is about these two very different kids coming together and finding out that they have more in common than they thought.

Matt is twelve years old and has just lost his mother. Without a clue what to do now, he plops himself down on the lawn and stares up at the clouds. He is approached by Angela, who introduces herself as an alien. She tells Matt that she has a space ship hidden up in her tree house, which they can take to a far away planet where lost spirits reside.

The film will be produced independently at Columbia College Chicago. Principal photography will last throughout the first two weeks of May 2011. Fortunately, CCC provides many tools for us to make our film at a much cheaper cost.

We have already raised half of our $10,000 budget which has allowed us to rent the brand new Panasonic AF100 camera, acquire studio space, sew costumes and find locations. But we still need funds to build the sets, provide transportation, feed the cast and crew, and create visual effects.

If you help us to make this film a reality, not only would you receive the rewards listed at the right, but we will be eternally grateful.

Thank you!

ASSOCIATE PRODUCER: The above + an invitation to join us on set (in Chicago) at any time during principal photography + credit as Associate Producer. 2 backers Limited (6 of 8 left)

CO-PRODUCER: The above + a slate in the credits as Co-Producer + an additional Limited Edition DVD with a personalized "thank you" video. In addition, you get a stub stub stub! Note: just because it says 'stub' three times doesn't mean you're getting three of them.

    1 backer Limited (4 of 5 left)

BECOME A CHARACTER IN YOUR OWN STORY: The above + your own personal short film script! The writer/director of The Tree House will write a 7-15 page script that is ALL about YOU. Or a friend. Or someone you made up. Point is, you can choose the character and maybe even the plot. If you do not find the first draft satisfactory, you can even demand up to two rewrites. You will also own the rights and can do whatever with it that you wish. Good deal? Throw in the ticket stub, and yeah. I think so.

  • Pledge $1,000 or more

    0 backers Limited (3 of 3 left)

EXECUTIVE PRODUCER: The above (with a signed DVD and poster) + a featured prop from the film + "Executive Producer" credit + the choice to replace the personalized short film script with the first ten pages of a feature.
