Kickstarter

My name is Tiffany Harelik and with many good people's help I have boot-strapped the Trailer Food Diaries: Cookbook project from it's early beginnings in 2010.  I owe the success of having sold over 5,000 copies of the Austin edition in just a few months to the supporters on kickstarter for funding the initial print run.  The Portland edition is now complete (and don't tell my hometown of Austin but man I think this book looks even better!)...

I'm excited about the gourmet street food recipes that the food truck vendors have shared: broccoli cheddar and apple soup, country pate, marionberry pie holes, lemon curd with spiced pecan lefse, carrot and ginger coconut soup, black chai, egyptian falafel, wheat porter, moong dal with spinach, blue cheese cole slaw, beef goulash, porchetta, and breakfast gnocchi are all part of the fabulous menu items from these gourmet food carts.  But it's the stories behind each recipe that really give you a sense of the community and history within each bite.  The stories are what inspire me to live my own version of the American Dream, and I hope they do the same for you.

The Portland book is the second in my series.  The writing, photography and design are complete.  While I yearn for a large book contract with this series, I need help funding the initial printing of this edition.  When you pledge on kickstarter, you'll get a signed copy of the Portland and/or Austin editions (depending on which level you pledge).  These books are great for anyone who enjoys the culinary culture of food trucks.  The recipes range from super easy to complex, and the directions are clear enough for any home chef or a mom on the go.  Gift ideas: wedding/bachelorette gifts, birthdays, teacher thanks yous, culinary students, graduation gifts, holidays/Christmas/Hanukah, etc.
