Songs are written, plans are made. I am really excited to have everyone involved from the very beginning of this record. Gonna be fun!
I feel like I am writing some of the best songs of my career right now, and I am ready to get back in the studio and share what I am working on. The project is titled Songs For You, and this theme will run throughout the album. There is actually a category in this campaign where I will write a “song for you.” I am hoping that at least one of these will appear on the album.
I have set the funding goal for this project low, in the hope that we will at a minimum get the studio time funded. Knowing what rock stars my friends and fans are, I have a good feeling that we can blow the goal out of the water and raise enough money to really give this record a chance to have some legs and get out into the world. Records are like kids, they constantly need more money. And as a parent we want the best for our kids. And much like kids, once they leave the nest, they constantly call home for more money to support their travels into the world. Just as kids need college to better there chances at a good life, records need marketing so they don’t end up digging ditches at the bottom of the Big Lot’s $2 bin.
So this is where you come in. I have come up with some cool rewards that will let you get involved and be a part of this process. Making a record is so much fun. There is true magic in the process of taking an idea that lives inside your head and shaping it into a tangible recording. If you have never been inside a studio to see this magic happen, please join us for the day. Maybe you are more the live type. Bring the music to your house.
