About this project
What would Toy Box Theatre Company do with $20,000? It would allow us to use our ten years of multi-disciplinary theatre experience to bring twice as many productions to twice as many audiences this year. It would allow us to support the amazing talent that brings every show to life. And it would allow us to focus our fund-raising efforts enough to do two-show seasons on a permanent basis.
We've gotten to our 10th season through the support of our loyal donor base, as well as private and government grants. But public support for the arts is fast-disappearing, and Toy Box needs your help to grow our creative vision and bring Off Off Broadway to new audiences, year after year.
Our first production your donation will support is the world-premiere of The Short Fall by David Caudle in June of this year. A satirical comedy about one status-obsessed family's deliberate fall from grace, the play will combine traditional narrative with original, live music, live foley, and video.
With your help, we can sign an exclusive rental contract at a 75-seat black box located on the Fourth Arts Block (FAB) in the East Village. Having exclusive access to the space gives us the freedom to put on the highest-quality production possible, and lets us bring the production to life without time constraints or compromise to our creative vision.
We'll also be able to fund costume designers, lighting designers, set designers, stage managers, actors, and musicians. And we'll have the budget for rehearsal space, materials to build sets, wardrobe, and marketing.
A lot will happen in the next few weeks—we'll share our progress with you every step of the way. Follow along on Facebook, on our website at toyboxtheatre.org, and right here on Kickstarter.
Thanks to everyone who's supported Toy Box over the last decade, and thanks to everyone who helps us meet our fundraising goal.
All our best,
Mike, Jon, Ryan, and James

Founded in New York City as a not-for-profit corporation in 2002, Toy Box Theatre Company engages our audience in a diverse and thought provoking theatrical experience through multi-disciplinary presentations and original works.
At an affordable cost, our high quality, emotional and physical brand of multi-disciplinary theatre straddles the line between the experimental school of performance and that school which stays true to a traditional plot and storyline.
