Hello Kickstarter backers!

Thank you once again for all your support in helping bring Under the Boardwalk: The MONOPOLY Story to theaters in New York City last spring! You helped us get reviewed in the New York Times, play theatrically in over 15 cities, and now the film is up on Amazon, Netflix, and iTunes! We most certainly could not have done it without you!

Well, the economics of making independent film have not changed much since last spring and I am back at it again working on another independent film, this time producing a 1980's comedy titled Todd Lucas: Singer/Songwriter, a hilarious film that I'm jointly producing with Sidecar Productions. It chronicles the rise and fall of Eternity, the greatest white R&B duo of the late 1980's, a la Hall & Oates. And for Todd Lucas, we have set out on the ambitious goal of raising $50,000 through Kickstarter. 

We are already 23% funded, thanks in part to some of you who have already backed Todd Lucas, but we only have 9 DAYS left to reach our goal. EVERY DOLLAR COUNTS. As you know, Kickstarter is an all-or-nothing fundraiser, so if we don't reach our goal, we don't get anything. 

I know that money is tight for everyone these days, but even a $5 donation and sharing this link/update with friends would go a long way. Having a large backer count can sometimes be even a better blessing, as nobody wants to miss out on a good thing!

The writer and other producers have already been working on this film for the last four years, and they brought me on board last fall to help jumpstart this film into action! I know money can be a precious thing, but if you are going to spend it on anything, please consider contributing to art, comedy and my personal goal in life to produce feature films.

This week we released a music video to promote the film as well as held a press conference to answer some of the pressing questions we've gotten from potential backers. Hopefully between the two of these and our main Kickstarter project video it gives you a good taste for what is in store with Todd Lucas.

It came down to literally the last minute, but we hit our goal, passed GO and raised $21,110! Thanks so much to all of you who contributed, those who were our cheerleaders on Facebook & Twitter (especially Victoria Westcott -- check out her feature film in pre-production - Locked in a Garage Band), and definitely to those of you who upped your pledges in the last hours to help us hit our goal!

I know that money is tight for everyone right now and that the fact that you all supported Craig & I in our film endeavor really means so much to us! I wish that I could afford to take you all out to dinner out of my own pocket, but I have invested every spare dollar of my own into this film and have literally not taken any money to date for my work on this film over the last 3.5 years.

For those who did the $15 or $30 rewards, those will begin shipping on Monday. For the $50 or $75, I'll get out those by the end of the month. For those who did $100 or higher, we'll have the Special Edition DVD ready in a couple months once our DVD distributor gets them all set!

I have a big silly grin on my face right now and it's all thanks to you!  I am forever in your debt.
