What we're doing...

Tony LaJoye Trio are working on recording our full length debut album.  The album is set to be released in October of 2012.  This project will feature several of Tony's new original songs, as well as a few full-band arrangements of songs previously recorded on Tony's solo/acoustic album, "Monster".  The style is a catchy jazz/pop/roots fusion, performed on acoustic-electric guitar, steel drums, upright and electric bass, drums, and vocals.  The lyrical contents will range from relationships, getting through personal ups and downs, and life below the poverty line. The album will have a total of 8-10 original songs as well as innovative and unique artwork for the cover.

Why we're doing it...

Tony released his debut solo album, "Monster", about 3 years ago.  It's an awesome album, but it's pretty bare bones (Tony, a guitar, a microphone, and a computer in his bedroom).  Tony LaJoye Trio has been playing shows for over a year now, with no CD to promote, other than "Monster", which doesn't accurately represent the band at all.  We put on a fantastic live performance, and our shows are always well received, and well attended, and we've got great songs.  The only thing missing is an album!

Why we need your help...

Producing an album is fun, but expensive.  In order to get the attention of the "big-time industry-type people", that run radio stations, promote shows, write reviews, ect., industry-standard recording quality and professional packaging are a must-have.  Not to mention, you have to promote not only your album, but also the tour that subsequently follows the release of said "album", and the repairs on the van, so you don't crash in a fiery blaze on said "tour" (although that would be pretty "rockstar").
