Help fund the printing of our groundbreaking (watch yourself, ground) instruction manual -- "How to Doodle" -- and receive UNBELIEVABLE goodies!
For 27 years, we -- Thomas Watson and Andrew Cleary -- have cultivated our doodling skills. We've doodled everywhere and everyway, from clandestine scribbles in high-level strategy meetings to public doodles in art spaces. Five years ago, no longer content with doodling's neglected status as an art form, we embarked on an ambitious project to teach everyone the skills to doodle on their own, and to build a theoretical framework for the inclusive art of doodling.
Now this project is close to completion and we are set to print a run of our book: "How to Doodle." The book comes with over seventy pages of original doodles, all laying out tips, techniques, nonsense and examples to help you hone your doodling skills. ALSO, it offers a treatise on doodle theory, sure to reign as the most definitive, seminal contribution to doodle scholarship EVER -- about this we are fairly certain.
>> You can see some sample doodles here!
The doodles are complete, the text is set, the layout is ready to print, and the money ... is not in place. That's where we need you to help.
We're trying to raise $1,500, which will allow us to print up a few hundred copies of our book, in high quality, perfect bound and beautiful.
If you invest in the printing of this book, you will not only receive a pre-order discount (though you get that too), you also get a number of INCREDIBLE, we'll-probably-regret-promising-them goodies. Take a look at the options and take a look at our website and pick a contribution level. The more people who donate, the more we'll print, and the more time the world will spend doodling. But PLEASE BEAR IN MIND, all things have costs, and this will be time that COULD BE SPENT ON OTHER THINGS, such as wars, destruction, mayhem, etc.
Want to know more about us? We are a pair of writers, cutups and illustrators living in New York. We have been contributors to The Onion and have performed at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater. Recently our doodling was featured as an installation at The Gowanus Studio Space, a non-profit art space and gallery in Brooklyn, New York.
That's us in front of it in the picture at the top! You can view the whole giant doodle here.
