I hope you've had a great New Year so far!  I'm excited about recording my fifth full-length album, and my very first 4-song EP!  So, I've made four full-length albums already, and why am I making an EP now?  Well, so far I have mainly produced and recorded my albums at home, with extremely modest, low budget equipment.  I've also done it with a limited knowledge of recording and mixing.  The plan this time around is to utilize the wealth of knowledge and talent of Jeremy Cays: a producer, arranger, recording engineer and brilliant pianist!  It is Jeremy who arranged, produced, recorded, mixed and performed piano on my recording of 'O Holy Night' last year.  The focus will be solely on producing the four songs on the EP, and bringing them to the standards that record companies are looking for.  The intent is to send the EPs to these major record labels, in hopes of getting their attention.  There is also the possibility of radio airplay, as major radio stations also hold high standards for the production of what they play.  The songs from the EP will also eventually surface, and make their permanent home on my fifth full-length album.  The remainder of the new songs will be home produced, as they were on my previous albums.

Studio time is not cheap, between the recording of instrument tracks, vocal tracks and subsequent mixing.  Special time and attention must be paid to all of the above, to ensure an excellent product.  I plan on using a professional mastering service this time around as well.  By backing this project, you get to help make it happen, as well as redeem rewards based on your contribution!  You are also helping this ministry, and possibly helping open doors to more opportunities and exposure for the music!  I want to take the music wherever it is meant to go, and I feel that this is an important step.

$2000 is the goal, and it will be used to pay Jeremy Cays for production, arranging, recording and mixing in his professional recording studio.  He will also perform piano on the project.  Following mixing, it will also be used for mastering, which is the final step in the post production process.  The way Kickstarter works is if the goal is not met at the end of the fundraiser, the money goes back to all of the backers.  In this case, no money would be available to fund the project, and it would not be possible.
