Only Five Days Until Tomorrow!

Hello, beautiful backers!

First and foremost, thanks for believing in us and supporting Tomorrow. We’ve been blown away by the number of people who want to help us make this magazine. With only five days left to finish fundraising, we want to give you a quick update on where we stand and where we’re headed next—and ask you to tell your friends all about it.

As of this writing, our Kickstarter total is just shy of $40,000. We’re so flattered that more than 1,500 people have invested in our project! When we set a goal of $15,000, we chose the lowest amount necessary to not lose money on a bare-bones effort. We did not include the cost of the editors’ time and effort, or our contributors’ art, words and reporting. So we hope you’ll continue to spread the word to your friends and encourage them to kick in for their very own issue, which will allow us to print more copies and compensate the hard-working people making this thing happen.

And what a thing it’ll be! We received hundreds of pitches, and we’ve already got some awesome articles planned for this 112-page four-color extravaganza. We’re going to explain why economists and video game designers need each other. We’re going to find out what happens to teens (and tweens) who are scouted by college and pro sports teams before they’re even old enough to drive. We’re going to diagram the human body of tomorrow, which is really more machine than man. We’ll profile up-and-coming queer musicians, discover art in the Yelp economy, check into virtual rehab, tell you who’s repping your favorite nail artist, and rant about baby boomers. Plus flowcharts and infographics and maybe even a jingle or two.
