Welcome to the fun & crazy world of Tomatina! Tomatina is a luscious tomato-vegetable juice that people love for its distinct flavor and juiciness. Tomatina is pulpy because we use plump, juicy, whole tomatoes in our recipe. Tomatina tastes great as a healthy snack, after a night out, or even as a meal replacement.
Tomatina was created in my fourth floor, walk-up, studio apartment. This unique recipe went through 70+ variations to get to its current delicious state. It is finally ready to be produced in a co-packing facility.
Toma-Funds
Constructing a juice company with limited funds is very tricky. Up to now, all of the money invested has been my own. Getting some momentum going is key to Tomatina’s launch and survival. Margins are extremely slim, and success hinges on ample funding. That is where you come in! Your generous pledge will help Tomatina produce its first run of product. This money will be used to purchase bottles. Any extra money leftover will go toward caps, labels, and ingredients.

Risk: Running out of money
Challenge: Staying above water until Tomatina is successful CAN happen. Part of my background is in finance and product pricing, so I am always aware of unit costs, price points, budgets, etc. The numbers improve with long term volume sales. My job until then is to seek funding and sell product.
Risk: Can’t sell Tomatina
Challenge: Delivering value to the customer is key. Many factors affect sales numbers. One stands out in my mind. It’s important to look at where we are selling Tomatina in order to understand what the customer is willing to pay for this type of beverage. Like real estate, retail shelf space is local, and different outlets can bring more or less value to different people, depending on the location. If Tomatina is not selling, it may have something to do with where it is being sold. I'm new to the beverage industry, so this will involve a lot of strategy & creativity!
Risk: Tomatina is too big for one person
Challenge: One of my biggest fears is not finding enough qualified help to keep Tomatina going. There needs to be both capital investment (deep pockets), and rapidly increasing sales to maintain the business. Both of these mean I need a partner. I have a lot of contacts, but finding a business partner is like finding a wife or a husband. You need to find someone who wants an investment, who has the means to make an investment, and whose skills and style compliment your own. Until I find him/her, I'm working in overdrive to get things done, and expanding knowledge through research, experience, and mentors.
