Update #3: Thanks. It was a good run.

Posted on February 1

A bit of a repeat publicly of what I shared last night privately with all backers. My deepest thanks. Makers Going Pro didn't make it, as you know, but I learned a ton and am incredibly grateful to everyone for their support and encouragement.  I'm leaving this one as a public update. Please stay in touch: Q4Sales at Gmail . com

You can keep up with me at Forbes and certainly feel free to share stories about the hacks, the things you make, your inventions via that email above or my Forbes column.

I would truly love to hear from you. I've also been working on a project around parts sourcing, too, to make it easier for makers who want to sell their kits. Email me and I'll share some details about the alpha program.

Thanks again!

TJ

Update #1: Hot New T-Shirt Reward Level, Plus an extra perk.

Posted on January 16

Hi everyone,

Thanks a ton for all the support and encouraging emails and Facebook updates and tweets. I’m seriously honored. Thank you.

I have two additions to the reward levels that I am excited to tell you about. It is not possible to edit a reward level once someone has backed at that level, so I had to create a new second $45 reward level. It is a new t-shirt design/slogan created by my wife:  “I Backed a Kickstarter Project and All I Got Was This Lousy T-shirt!"  Here’s a photo of it (If it doesn't show, scroll to bottom of post):

When the project is funded/completed, you can specify which shirt design you want and size/color details (we have a set number of basic colors already picked). So, don’t worry if you picked the other shirt.

Second, I have 100 copies of Make’s Ultimate Kit Guide that I am including for the $25 Level (and up). The first 100 backers at this level or higher (and you’re grandfathered in if you’re already a backer) will get a copy. (If photo doesn't show, scroll to bottom of post.)

If you live in the USA, we will mail you a hard copy or PDF of it.  If you live outside the USA, we can only email you a PDF file.  This is a perfect reward in my mind because it relates to what I’m doing here – sharing about kit makers, creators, inventors, who are selling their kits and projects! As some of you know, I’m starting to write for Make (my first post is here about Maker Business in 2011).  Everyone who has backed at $25 and up will receive one.

Let me know if you have questions. But please know that I deeply value your contribution, your support, and I’m thrilled to add these new rewards. Please share with your maker, inventor, DIY friends and family if you think they’d like to help support the book.

Here’s the short link to make sharing easy: http://kck.st/wlYrp6

Thanks!
