Amazingly Beautiful, Simple to Use, and Simply the Best. Innovative Rare Earth Magnet Design with No Suction Cups. Navigate Safely!
Hi, My name is Daniel.
The number of people that rely on GPS Navigation on their smart phone has exploded over the past two years. However, the tragic side effect of this behavior is the increased risk of an accident because most people look down at their phone instead of positioning it so they keep their eyes on the road while using their GPS navigation.
That's why we designed the Titan Vehicle Smart Phone Holder. What separates the Titan from other vehicle smart phone accessories is that it is easy to use, stylish, innovative, unobtrusive, reliable, and it synergistically blends art with engineering. It will help ensure that you drive safely while navigating... while getting second looks from others.
Our goal was to create something truly beautiful, extremely simple to use, ergonomically sound, and innovative. We're very proud of the Titan Vehicle Smart Phone Holder and think it will change the way we use GPS navigation on our phones.
Attaching the phone couldn't be easier. Simply touch the back of the phone to the Titan and it will hold as well as any. There are no mechanisms to fumble with, it just works. The Titan uses the strongest type of rare earth magnet available to hold the phone so it will hold your phone in place until you’re ready to take it and go. Interacting with your phone’s screen is never an issue; the strong magnets will hold your phone in place while you interact with it.
A super thin metal powder coated metal plate with beveled edges attaches to the back of your phone. The plate is as thick as FIVE sheets of paper and includes matte black and white, so it will look stylish yet it's barely there. It uses engineered VHB tape from 3M specifically designed to work extraordinarily well with plastics, rubberized covers, metals, and painted covers, so it is certain to hold properly with any phone.
Using a chuck to adjust the phone is a snap and is intuitive. Rotate counter-clockwise to loosen, adjust, rotate clockwise to tighten.
Attaching and removing the Titan is just as easy by utilizing a clear base instead of suction cups. You will never again have to worry if a suction cup is going to give out while your phone is attached (Smoke option illustrated above). The Base is attached to the windshield using engineered VHB clear acrylic tape. The tape is clear, is designed to resist years of exposure to UV light, and is thick enough to attach to windshields with a slight curvature to them.
A simple, robust, and reliable design is utilized to quickly attach and remove the Titan from the base. A tab with a tapered lead-in makes it easy to do without the need to align it. The back of the Titan includes a three feature locking system which eliminates any snap features that can break over time while offering stability by including a locking feature on both sides and in the back. To remove, simply rotate the Titan about the tab in the front and the locking feature will release. The design works like a pen cap, it locks it in place until you're ready to remove it.
Our goal was to be certain that the quality of the Titan was unsurpassed, and we wouldn’t be able to say that if snaps were braking off over time. After testing different prototypes, this was by far the best design we came up with which is built to last.
Rotating the phone couldn’t be simpler. Nothing to change or adjust, simply rotate your phone and it will hold it in the new position.
The Titan has been ergonomically designed so the phone is positioned closer to the driver. Our goal was to ergonomically design the Titan so the phone was as close as you'd use it when it's in your hand. You wouldn't use your phone while fully extending your arms, why should you while in your car?
The base remains out of site behind the rear view mirror. Since the base is behind the rear view mirror and is optically clear, you will never have to worry about it being seen when not in use. Just remove the Titan, store it. There are no suction cup marks left on your windshield and you truly can't see the base. It's even more stealth than transponders, since it's optically clear.
The Titan’s extraordinarily stylish design looks as great as it functions. The final design is made of optically clear durable acrylic accompanied by a rubberized chuck. The Titan body is ultrasonically welded together and includes a flash trap to ensure a strong clean bond without the need for screws or other fastening options that would take away from the clean aesthetics.
The Funds will be used to cover: tooling, manufacturing, professional packaging, shipping for all U.S. based Kickstarter customers, an ad in a technical magazine listing Kickstarter customers, manual, and a final prototype machined out of acrylic to simulate the final material.
The Titan design is complete and is ready for tooling. We have already tested our prototypes extensively to ensure that our design is sound, robust, and will work reliably for years. The prototypes were SLA's created from a resin, which is not as durable as acrylic. Even though the final SLA prototype performed extremely well, we anticipate the acrylic prototype to perform even better than the SLA prototypes, but we’ll check to be certain. If we reach our funding goal, we will create a final machined prototype made out of acrylic and test it to confirm that all features work as exceptionally well with acrylic as it did with the SLA resin.
Once our final prototype is confirmed to work as well as the SLA prototype, we will kick off the tooling here in the U.S. In parallel, we will send the final artwork and packaging details to our manufacturer to complete the final custom packaging and send us samples to approve. We will coordinate with our supplier for the manual to deliver samples and coordinate the final production delivery schedule. All manufacturing is performed within the U.S., including the Titan’s parts, packaging, manual, and final assembly. Once everything arrives, we will assemble the parts in Austin Texas and ship to all Kickstarter customers by the end of May!!!
We can't do it without you and truly appreciate your support to allow us to achieve our goal of manufacturing the best Vehicle Smart Phone Holder available and helping people drive safer. THANK YOU SO MUCH !!!
