Nobody's perfect for everyone, but everybody's perfect for someone. As the cliche goes, "Don't judge a book by its cover."
The Perfect Girl Drinks Root Beer, by Tim Cody
William--brash, wannabe lady charmer, tragically British--is absolutely convinced that his perfect girl (whoever or wherever she may be) is absolutely enamored with root beer. And as the newest part-time employee of The Soda Shoppe, what better way to find her?
Girl after girl seems to disprove his theory: Robin, Alison, Harper, their imperfections all but glaring... But as the cliche goes, "Don't judge a book by its cover."
Nobody's perfect for everyone, but everybody's perfect for someone.
A cast of nearly a dozen characters is about to live the most important two weeks of their lives.
This is a work in progress. You can find some more information about this particular project on my website: http://www.timcodywrites.com. I will begin writing in a few days, and I will try to update my blog on a weekly or fortnightly basis outlining my progress.
Where you come in:
I don't need much, just about $200 so I can acquire the rights to reprint lyrics from Leonard Cohen's song "Hallelujah." Verses of the song will bridge the overarching narrative of one chapter, to create a written montage effect. Any extra funds raised will be put toward paying my cover artist and editor for once--they will appreciate your donations as much as I will!
Beyond acquiring the rights and finally paying the talented people who help make my books possible, additional funds will be used to purchase advertising space (most likely on GoodReads) once the book is published.
One final note:
As stated above, this book is a work in progress. I'm planning on having it completely finished and published by October 2012 at the latest, which is when rewards will be sent out.
Thank you in advance to anyone who donates!

Everything above, and I'll personalize the signature; I'll sign literally anything you tell me to, as long as it fits on a single page (and as long as it isn't wildly inappropriate--defaming, racist, etc.). Or, if you'd like me to write something personalized of my choosing, give me an approximate word count, and I'll write some random, hopefully amusing things in your paperback copy. I will write as tiny as I need to in order to fit your entire message.

Everything above, and an 8x11 print of an original artwork created for one of my books (printed on whatever Staples prints the image on when I say "Print this with the highest possible quality"), autographed by the artist. You can choose any one image from Crimson Soul 1, 2, or The Perfect Girl Drinks Root Beer. The artwork for Root Beer has not yet been created, but you can see the art for Crimson Soul on my site: http://www.timcodywrites.com/p/artwork.html. As you can see, she's quite talented. :)
