Half way there!
A big thank you!
Last night the project broke the half way point. I've noticed that a lot of you have indeed shared our project either through Facebook or Pinterest. This has helped tremendously.
I'd like to give a shout out to my good friend Joseph Cote for backing my project. You should definitely check out his project here http://kck.st/JgHSHy.
I'm starting to get a lot of recurring questions for example the mug's capacity (275ml), so I will post them to the the projects FAQ at the bottom of the page. I'm also trying to get a video up, it probably won't be as polished as some others you've seen, but at least you'll get to see more of the mug. I've been discovering comments online away from this project page that may represent what some of you are wondering.
1. Is the mug stable?
Yes it is. It will not tipple, topple, wibble, wobble in any capacity. If it does, you're a magician.
2. The coaster is flat, and when I go to drink, won't whatever is caught under there spill into my lap?
Well, I'm not sure I know how to address this one. I have to respect an individual's opinion, so I can only put forth my own opinion, then we can have a nice discussion. If I spill enough coffee that a pool of it collects on the coaster, then my wife is going to be giving me a sippy cup.
Try to imagine your fresh hot cup of coffee and you're sipping/slurping it gingerly. In my experience some sips result in a very small drop or two sliding down the side of the mug. Sometimes that amount will evaporate well before it makes it to the bottom of the mug, other times its enough to make it to the base of the mug. When it does make it, it slides under the mug instead of creating a ring on your coffee table.
Most of the stains I've seen ( you may disagree) that really annoy people or get spouses in trouble can, in most cases, can be wiped off the table with just your hand or small napkin. If you were spilling enough onto the coaster that it would spill into your lap, I believe that would be beyond the reasonable use of any coaster. Also, feel free to google "table coaster", take a look at the images page. Coasters are typically flat and have no obvious means of retaining enough liquid that if you lifted it off the table the liquid would spill.
What do you think? Perhaps I'm blinded by my own bias.

Lol, I love the sippy cup comment! And yes, if you are slurper or dribbler than perhaps 'your nurse' will help you!
