Paul Keith begins his day like any other. Come dusk, his world is set in a tailspin with some heavy consequences.
Our story takes place 90 miles east of Los Angeles, in an area known as the Inland Empire. Under the sweltering sun, between wafts of Marlboro smoke and burned out Little Caesar’s sign flippers, Paul Keith begins his day like any other; come dusk, his world is set in a tailspin with some heavy consequences.
Think Paris, Texas meets Badlands meets the spirit of Guy Maddin's My Winnipeg mixed into one short film.
BUT filmmaking has its costs! I'm trying to raise $2500, a meager sum for the undertaking, to cover the cost of crew, equipment, transportation, car demolition and post work. I'll be shooting on the lovely Canon 7D.
Bitchin' new band Layered Hickies (http://layeredhickies.bandcamp.com/), rock lords Dios (http://www.myspace.com/diosmalos), the slow-psych genius of The Spookfish (http://www.myspace.com/thespookfish) and original instrumentation by several professional musicians will provide the soundtrack and score.
Be my heroes and lend some bills to support the first film to document a place where vigilante justice prevails, where men roam the streets dog-tired and wayward, where love is had for the price of a wild-cherry Slurpee and the dishes are never done: THUNDERBIRD’S NEST.
