Update #7: Now we just need a Closer!
Greetings!
I've been getting a little emotional the past few days. For those of you who watched the promo videos attached to our kickstarter profiles, that probably isn't a big surprise. This subject really affects me. But even more than that, it is how many people have put their faith in me and my crew and gotten behind this project. It is very humbling and flattering, which is kind of a strange combination of feelings to be having.
A simple "Thank you" doesn't begin to express my gratitude and excitement, but it is a start. We are getting very close to our goal, and I do believe now with everyone's support, we will reach it.
I'll admit I feel a bit guilty asking for anything more, but if you would please keep posting the link, blogging, texting, emailing anyone else you can think of who would want to be a part of this project. We have just 47 hours remaining, and I know you all have to sleep, work etc. during the next two days, so whatever you can do will be perfect.
Thank you again, truly I am honored.
With Respect,
Cami
PS My apologies if you receive this update twice, I am sending it out
on both kickstarter profiles. So, if you have backed us both times,
this will be a ground rule double, I'm afraid. I'll change up the pictures to keep it interesting :)
Update #6: Photos Posted on New Profile
Hello,
I just posted about 15 photos of the girls on the Dream Team - in action - to our new kickstarter profile. These are just a few of hundreds that were taken by Richard Hopkins when the Dream Team played in an USSSA 13U tournament about month ago in Arizona.
I apologize for the double notice because if you have already made a pledge on the "Re-launch of Throw Like A Girl," then you've would have already received notice of this update, but these are awesome photos and I wanted to make sure you had a chance to see them. We were on-hand to collect some interviews and baseball game footage for the film at the tournament. I intend to post some of the video clips to our long over-due, but in-process website www.throwlikeagirlmovie.com that is expected to launch on Wednesday.
In the meanwhile, please head on over to http://kck.st/h2ifAI (the current fund-raising profile) to see how we are doing and check out the photos. The update should be viewable by all, even if you haven't had a moment to renew your pledge of support on the new profile. I'd certainly appreciate it, if you can and will support us again. We've attracted nearly 20 new Backers thus far, but less than 10 of our original Backers followed us. You should not have been charged for your original pledge because we did not reach our funding goal. However, if you were charged, it was in error. Please let me know and I will look into it.
Your continued support means everything as we journey forward committed to sharing their stories and bring awareness of women and baseball to the general public.
Thanks so much,
Cami
PS: Please send an email to throwlikeagirlmovie@yahoo.com with your zip code. That way we can let you know when there will be a screening in your area when the film is completed - Target Winter/Spring 2012
Update #5: The Dream Team Rocks!
Greetings All,
We are just back from a terrific shoot with the Dream Team who were playing in a USSSA 13U tournament in Arizona. The girls played very well ending up making it through to the third round going 2-3 against all boys teams who play together and practice together all the time - some even year-round.
I think the Dream Team's achievements are even greater in this light because they have only played together in two previous tournaments this year; and have had two practices as a team. Each of the girls are the only girl on their Little League teams and all live quite a distance from each other (Idaho, Florida, Massachusetts, California etc.)
I'll be posting some of the footage from this weekend in a few weeks once I have time to digitize and cut it into a segment. In the meanwhile, I've attached a few photos from our recent shoot.
And in an effort to clear up some potential confusion about kickstarter pledges... It come to my attention recently that some folks thought because they pledged on this original profile that they didn't need to re-pledge on the new profile because they had already been charged and given to the project. However, kickstarter does not transfer over past pledges, and would have only charged your credit card for your pledge if we had met our financial goal, which sadly we didn't. So, if you are interested in pledging anew and selecting a reward, please click on the link below and it will take you to the new page. That would be awesome!
Thanks so much,
Cami

Update #4: Throw Like A Girl re-launch is live!
Greetings All,
Here is the new Project URL for the new fundraising cycle in kickstarter:
Kindly check it out when you have some time and let me know what you think. I've set up a dedicated email to receive feedback throwlikeagirlmovie@yahoo.com
The video is much longer this time so I could include more interviews/footage that we have recorded since the first fundraising attempt. I deliberately used many clips that are different from the first video because it is still up and can be viewed. But kickstarter suggested I keep at least part of me introducing myself and the project because we should be attracting new backers to the project as well. We will also be adding video clip updates as we move forward from other events and interviews.
Please feel free to forward this new project URL to all your contacts whom you think would have an interest in it. We now have a PMD (Producer of Marketing and Distribution) signed on to the project, so we should have a much larger web presence and outreach programs in place soon.
Finally, I hope that you are still interested in pledging your support to the film. We are running this campaign for 70 days, so no pledges will be collected until June 1, 2011 at 10pm PDT even if we reach out funding goal in advance of that date.
Thanks in advance for your time and support!
With Respect,
Cami
Update #3: Re-launch of Throw Like A Girl's Kickstarter Campaign
Greetings Loyal Backers and Baseball fans!
I am very excited to report that work has been progressing at a rapid pace on Throw Like A Girl in spite of the fact that we fell short of our fundraising goal last time out on kickstarter. It is my sincere hope that you will pledge once again during our new campaign.
To that end, I am announcing that our new campaign will begin on Tuesday, March 22 and will run through June 1. We've revised the budget goal since we missed out on traveling with the EarthStars to the Phoenix Cup in Hong Kong, however we still want to catch up with those players to include them in this film. Over the winter, we've met so many wonderful ballers who have terrific stories to tell and who are inspiring us as they breakdown barriers that will only add to the richness of this portrait of change.
Please check out the new profile with a new, improved and more comprehensive video. Naturally since the finished film will be in the 85 min range, we will be able to feature more talented ballplayers than we can in a few minutes here, but hopefully you'll see where we are going and will be excited enough about the film to pledge your financial support and want to share information about the film and this campaign with your friends, relatives, co-workers and teammates.
My thanks and respect for your encouragement and support.
Play Ball!
Cami
PS Just a reminder that pledges are only charged if we reach the budgetary goal, and that will not be until the fundraising drive is complete on June 1.
