IF MUSIC BE THE FOOD OF LOVE...

Play on. THREE WEEKS is a whimsical short film inspired by a few HARD-TO-BELIEVE real-life events entailing wild sacrifices, odd part-time jobs, unbridled passion, unmatched creativity, and LOVE. Written by first-time female director Teah Strandjord & backed by Executive Producer Mike Kraabel, the 14-page script is now careening toward production, which begins on June 29th in St. Paul Minnesota, and STARS Superbowl Champion Ben Utecht. But before the lights go up and the cameras roll, we need your help!

WHY KICKSTARTER?

While we're already working with a small SELF-FUNDED budget, we're raising additional funds so we can make this currently great movie EXCEPTIONAL. As you'll see, we've been blessed to secure serious TALENT, and believe their VOLUNTEER efforts should be rewarded with the best movie possible. Movies are EXPENSIVE to make. And kickstarter funds will afford us additional camera equipment, additional lighting gear, and all the beautiful STUFF you'll see on screen: wardrobe, make-up, set design, and props. 

Furthermore, our ULTIMATE GOAL for this short film is to host private screenings both locally & nationally, screen at festivals, release an AWESOME "behind the scenes" making-of video, produce some BEAUTIFUL original music, and spread the idea that music is important, love is powerful, and your DREAMS are worth fighting for. Every extra dollar will help us make this goal a REALITY. We THANK YOU in advance, and will continue to thank you in every way we can. 

WHY CARE?

So far we've got the support of many including: the non-profit Keys for Kids, Fiat of Minnesota, Fat Lorenzo's Catering, SAG-AFTRA, the French band Oldelaf et Monsieur D. & their label Roy Music, and some AWESOME homeowners in the Edina Country Club neighborhood. And we've only JUST BEGUN! That is, of course, in addition to the OUTSTANDING cast & crew who've already pledged their allegiance to make our short film possible. Furthermore, we will be shooting on the RED Scarlet, thanks to the good guys at THREE VOLTS. We will record an ORIGINAL song and voice over in a state-of-the-art recording studio. And we have a few things up our sleeves that we can't talk about yet. Finally, we would like YOU to become a filmmaker with us, as we have so many exciting things in store for our final product: VIP screenings, festivals, press, air time, parties & lots of goodwill.

• Ms. Melissa Martin, Make-up/Hair Department Head & Coordinator (I met Melissa on the set of a big commercial shoot, where she was head of make-up, and she's super-rad!)
• Mr. Mike Severson, Sound (I've been working with Mike for over a DECADE, he did sound for my award-winning short RESPECT)
• Mr. Steve Hintz, Special Effects (Hintz Effects to the rescue, he is going to help us have a "smokin" good time)
• Ms. Laura Cervin, Key Grip (super duper excited for this talented University of Minnesota film/media professional to join our team)
• Ms. Katherine Curtis, Head PA (Katherine is a serious WOW, and an comer-upper in the local film/video community)
• Ms. Kate-Madonna Hindes, Script Supervisor (Kate is the new Editor-in-Cheif at Minnesota Business Magazine, so she's kind-of super qualified)
• Ms. Hanna Eustis, Wardrobe Stylist (she will be ironing out all our wrinkles, literally, and making us look AMAZING)
• Lots of others: a gaffer/lighting designer, additional grips, make-up and wardrobe assistants, a hair artist, an acting coach, craft services, PAs, post-production... editor, sound design, color correction, titles, graphic & web design... JEEBERZ!
