Hello friends! Thanks for stopping by. Here's what's going on -
The World Record is a band from L.A., based in Highland Park. We play melodic and rocking songs with lots of vocal harmonies and dueling guitars in the hopes of making the listener feel just dandy.

The record at that link came out in 2006. We felt good about it, and began working on a follow-up, but a bunch of stuff happened that prevented us from finishing it for SIX YEARS.
But that's all in the past. We're delighted now to say that our new album is fully recorded and mixed, along with a 5-song EP featuring songs that did not fit on the CD (but will be included as bonus tracks on the double vinyl). We're very happy with them, and can't wait to share them with you. There are just a few final steps to complete first.
One of these is the mastering of the songs. Mastering is an expensive business where a pro audio person pores over the songs and makes them all ready for primetime. With 23 tracks, the mastering is going to cost a bit more than usual. Then, we have to manufacture CDs and records. This too is a pricey racket. CDs have things called glass masters, and records have lacquers and mothers. Just like people!
These are expensive processes, but we want to treat these releases with the respect they deserve. We've taken great care during the writing and recording parts; it would be a shame to go the cheap route here at the end.
This is of course why we need your help. We know money isn't coming easy for many of us these days. We assure you that if you've liked this band in the past, you'll be thrilled with what's coming. Any amount will be sincerely appreciated and remembered. And, those of you with a few extra shekels to spare can find some premium items down lower in the list as special reward for your largesse.

Yeah, it's a little convoluted. There's going to be an 18-song CD (Freeway Special), and a 5-song digital EP (Come On Summer). The CD will make up the first three sides of the double vinyl release. The EP will appear as the 4th side of the vinyl.
However, it occurred to us it wasn't right for the CD buyers not to receive a hard copy of the EP, so we've decided to print a short run of EP discs, available only to Kickstarter supporters. If your pledge reward includes a CD, you'll also receive a bonus EP disc for your generosity. Isn't that nice?
