Hey guys! We are so excited to be using this unique strategy to raise money for funding the recording of our debut album. We feel we have an amazing support team! We have received such a flattering response from our families and our friends and from all the individuals who have lent their time and skills to the launching of The Vanity Belles. That happens to be a whole lot of positive wishes and, trust us, we can feel it!
Kickstarter is a way to help us offset the expenses that we have absorbed during the recording process. There are so many bills that seem to pile up when you do this sort of thing independently. Sometimes, that can feel a bit overwhelming. Without a record label to front the costs, we have to pay for everything out of our own pockets. Nevertheless, there is an up-side, to all of this! As independent musicians, we are given the opportunity to produce this record EXACTLY how WE WANT! We are guaranteed TOTAL creative freedom and that sure feels empowering! Lucky for us there is this wonderful platform called Kickstarter!
Kickstarter will help us to obtain funds for this project by offering a system of rewards for those interested in pledging to our cause. Listed on the right are the breakdowns of varying levels of rewards that you may get your mitts on! Essentially, you might view this as an opportunity to pre-order the record and to receive some exclusive rewards that we wouldn't necessarily offer at our shows or on our website. All that sounds so exciting to us.

1) Our producer: Chris Cubeta, for his time recording, editing, mixing and even playing on our record...a whole 8 more tunes! Our band: We need to pay our musicians for their time & musical contributions. Each of them spent more than one day working on their parts to make it perfect. All in all, we spent about 120 hours in the studio working with more than 12 people to create 8 amazing songs. Every dollar goes to paying our production costs and musicians. (That's $6.94 an hour, people!!! Less than minimum wage these amazing people are helping us make this happen for...)

These days record labels, managers & agencies don't have the money to spend on creating or developing artists. Theyr'e the ones with the big time connections, but they're not willing to help you out unless you come to them with a finished product they know they can sell. Think of them more as wholesalers looking to make a profit on a product. Also, without a record it's impossible to build a fan base on tour. You have to leave something behind other than the memory of a performance, otherwise they have nothing to remember you by or to share with their friends!

We have spent years building a network of industry connections from Business Managers, labels, tv/film networks, radio stations, venues, and artist agencies. There are a ton of those people who are really excited about our songs and anxious to hear this record so they can start sharing it with THEIR network of connections. We plan to continue nurturing those relationships, pushing the record as well as submit it to radio across the country & start getting our music out there through touring, viral videos & licensing to television & film.
