UPDATE:

Yesterday, we broke the $15k mark in our quest to fund Season 2 of 'The Steps.'  If we don't make $17k by SATURDAY, it won't happen AT ALL.  Spread the word.  Think about increasing your pledge by a little.  Read today's message:

It's time to talk about Why I'm involved in 'The Steps.'

Let's be honest: It's not the money.

And it's not the fame.

A web series like this is not an easy 'sell' - The fact that you're now getting daily emails from me about the final moments of our Kickstarter campaign to raise a measly $17,000 for a second season is proof of that.

BUT.

If you've seen Season 1 (www.WatchTheSteps.com), you've seen what I saw when Dylan showed me the first three episodes - MADE FOR $700. 

Great writing.  Great acting. Great direction.  Dylan is a force of nature.  Wildly talented.  'The Steps' is a compelling story with compelling characters told through the gritty filter of old-school noir.  And yet, it feels completely fresh and new.

I've made some TV in the past.  I watch TV.  Few TV series grab me the way 'The Steps' does. 

So, I HAD to be involved.  It wasn't really a choice for me.

The reason we're asking people to get behind 'The Steps' with their wallets is simple:

We want to make the best show we can.  Then put it out there for people who like watching the best.

Would I like to see this show on 'Traditional TV'?  Sure.  It'd be nice to have that kind of audience (and that kind of marketing muscle to push the show).  But it's more important to me that we MAKE the show at this point.

You know.  The old 'Field of Dreams' thing: If You Build It, They Will Come.

So, the blueprints are ready.  The lumber is ordered.  We've got our work gloves on.

We're ready to get building.
