Welcome to the Exclusive Pre-Order Event for "The Blackest Shine"!

For every record we’ve released over the last 5 years either as Lalaland or as The Pons, we have offered our fans, friends, & family a chance to pre-order our records and get a few perks for doing so.
It helps us to cover the necessary up-front costs for packaging, but also gives you guys a chance to get the record before everyone else and to get some extra prizes that will not be offered to everyone else.
For this campaign; offers range from getting the Commercially packaged CD to getting the record in Limited Edition 12” white vinyl - our first time to do offer this – a CD copy of our cover of Wreckless Eric’s Whole Wide World with Homemade Art.
And at the highest level, you can get everything offered in the previous levels as well as getting your face on the cover of the record and your name in the liner notes.
United Record Pressing (www.urpressing.com) has just agreed to offer everyone who has purchased - or purchases before the deadline - at the $50 level or above a Free Test Pressing of the LP. This is a limited super rare version of "The Blackest Shine" on black vinyl and will be shipped along with your commercially packaged LP in white vinyl. So, you'll have a collectors item for keeps or you can decide to share the extra copy.
In addition to the production cost; the money raised from this campaign will go towards the expenses for our tour through Texas and up through the Midwest as well as promotional support - Radio, print, street teams, & collateral.
The cover will feature a grid of Polaroid Close-ups and everyone in the photos will have a black eye. So, if you have a photo of yourself with a Black Eye, send it to us. If you don’t have a photo of yourself with a REAL black eye and you want to become famous by getting on the cover, purchase at the highest level and you’ll be invited to a private party/photo shoot where we will have make-up artist on-hand to give you a gnarly Black Eye. No Pain Involved.

As soon as we reach our funding goal, we can move forward with production. Based on the time frame set for this process, the final product should be in our hands by Sept 15th.

No. We hope to raise enough, perhaps beyond our goal, so that we can tour, submit to festivals around the country, hire PR for tour support or anything else necessary to market this record and our band.

The Pons have just finished our second full-length record "The Blackest Shine" to be released September 2011. Produced and Engineered by Erik Wofford at Cacophony Recorders in Austin.
The Pons are Ruby Painter, Thomas Mazzi & Steve Sanders. Our friend and sometimes 4th member Joel Mullins added his black & white keys to this affair and Erik Wofford applied his skills on Omnichord and Guitar. Stay tuned. In Erik's words, "It's a classic".
Our influences are too vast to have any direct impact on how we write. References people have made about us that we can agree on: Low, Pixies, Talking Heads, Wedding Present, & Galaxy 500
There really isn't anything like us.
