About this project

UPDATE 2

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ON OUR WAY TO BALTIMORE! BUT WAIT...

Hello generous and potential contributors!

We're so happy that we've reached our initial goal within LESS THAN TWO DAYS!! Holy moly, we never thought it would happen. These pledges and our previous earnings allow us to pay for ALL tracking of the album. We are now in the green to record our first full-length, and have just booked dates with J. Robbins this June! How wonderful is that? So, a big THANK YOU to everyone who has contributed thus far.

But wait... as you know, everything takes time and money! (Boo) We will need AT LEAST another $2,000 to MIX and MASTER this thing. And with your help, I think we can make it happen!

So, please, take a moment to watch our video above and pledge $1.00, $5.00, $30.00, enough to get your own personalized theme song, or anything within your budget. Every little bit helps and will send us on our way. Our project will become a better and happy person because of it!

UPDATE 1

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2 Days Later.....
Our 26 backers did what we were certain would never happen in our allotted 30 day period. We're Thousandaires!!! This puts us well into the green for TRACKING this album. Being that we plan on recording 9 songs for the full spinny disc version, we can easily divide dedication to 2.8888888888888888888888888889 backers per song. You guys fight over the track choice and mathematical specifics.

If our premature Goal-Reaching has knocked you back on the being frugal side of your internal fence-swaying debate regarding pledging, please reconsider. Further pledges will allow us to actually MIX, MASTER, and MANUFACTURE the forthcoming recordings. Otherwise, they'll forever be trapped inside J.'s computer never to return. I've heard he just throws away computers after every session. Wasteful, sure, but everyone has a quirky completion ritual.

We honestly can't begin to tell you what reaching our $1000 goal this quickly means to us, but if we run into any backers, The Paus-ee of your choosing will kiss you square on the mouth, mostly likely without warning or introduction.

-The Pauses

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We've called our more well-off family members, sold off our pog collections, and shamelessly farmed as much WoW gold as the Chinese government would allow. Now, The Pauses are calling upon your natural philanthropic nature to assist in our impractical and pretentious plan of recording with legendary indie producer J. Robbins. We've done the hard part; setting up a Kickstarter account that will guide you through the difficult process of parting with your hard-earned money. All you have to do is swallow your justifiable reservation and give as much as you think we're worth. $1? The entire goal of $1000? It's completely up to your own mature discretion.

But, how are people going to find out about your, as yet unnoticed, altruistic and charitable nature? For every donation of $15 or more, The Pauses are willing to donate prime CD-booklet space back to your good name ( font - Old English size - 6pt ).

Just imagine the thrill you'll receive at reading your very own name in print on a product that had been manufactured on machines and all sorts of other powered mechanisms. What? You want to donate more than $15? Check out all the other benefits (on the right hand side of this page) you could receive for being that much more generous, Mr. Generosity. Now's your chance to finally prove all those people who said you were "a good for nothing bum" wrong.

Connected as Tierney Tough (1220 friends)

Do you like watching strangers play music? Do you like it when 2/3 of those strangers wear glasses? Do you like it when people ask you if you like things? Do you like Matthew McConaughey better in comedies or dramas? I have a hard time deciding, myself, but I'm just a bio for The Pauses. Oh, The Pauses, they're a band formed from the discarded remnants of other former bands. Hot off the collapse of their failed Vostok reunion band re-titling (The Immaculate Shark), Tierney Tough and Jason Kupfer sought to recruit fellow recent band dropout Nathan Chase (of Unsung Zeros fame) to form what no one else has yet come to term an "indie supergroup." Together they mostly wear glasses and entirely play music that will make you both dance and cry simultaneously. J. Robbins himself agreed to record their upcoming first album while doing both. Sure, they're "poppy" and have literally fed sugar to their audience, but they're also not reluctant to really rock a polar bear's ass when it's called for. Shoegaze, Noiserock, Blips and Bloops, Ukuleles, Animatronic Owls, Big Muffs, Adjectives Separated by Commas, Social Networking Accounts, Women; The Pauses objectify it all. Best of all, they're skillfully adept at anticipating their welcome-threshold and giving you your necessary space. No one likes a clingy band.
