We are “The Parsnip Revolt,” a rock band from Philadelphia that has been creating music together since 2006.

Since then, we have released a demo and three EPs that we recorded & produced ourselves. We really enjoyed the process (and low cost) of home recording.... So in 2010, with more knowledge and confidence, we set out to produce our first full-length album. 

We spent more than a year recording, mixing, re-recording and re-mixing a dozen songs. No matter what we tried, we could not capture what we were going for musically, and we knew that there was something missing from the finished product. After much internal stress and debate, we knew in our hearts that we could not release those recordings. We scrapped over a year's worth of hard work. 

As time passed and the battle scars of home recording started to heal, we began saving our pennies to try again…. but this time, in a studio with the help of a professional producer. 

At the start of 2012, we started working with producer Derek Chafin at the Barn Studio in Newtown Square, PA. Within our first week of working with Derek, the musical chemistry between the five of us was apparent. We knew that we had turned a musical corner and that we would never be the same band again (in a very good way). After two months of working out song arrangements & ideas in pre-production, we hit the "record" button.

Over the past four months, we’ve been blown away by how focused, edgy and huge Derek has made our songs sound. We are beyond excited about the musical direction he has taken our songs. The songs are more powerful and cohesive, while still being emotionally charged and pop-friendly. The album is just over halfway finished, but we have hit a financial wall… we are out of the necessary funding to keep going.

We realized that to make the album the best it can be, we need to ask for your help.

With the advent of Kickstarter and the assistance from our Parsnip family, we now have the opportunity to create an album that was impossible for us before... and one that we have never been so excited to release to the masses.

With your help, we will be able to finish the recording of this album and fund all of its associated costs (mixing, mastering, duplication, and promotion) .

Here is the "kick" with Kickstarter: *If we are unable to raise enough to reach our $4,000 goal in the allotted time frame, we get none of it! Zip! Zilch! Nada! Even if we raise $3999.99!*

Now, if we not only reach our goal, but also exceed it, we have the opportunity to put more resources into production to make the album even better. The band does not pocket one penny of the contributions for personal use and all money raised goes exclusively to finishing this album.
