About this project
The Other Dude
My approach to sharing comedy is similar to that of a punk rock band. Self-releasing CD's, booking my own shows and collaborating with others to design artwork. I believe in involving the audience, the "do-it-yourself" work ethic and having a positive attitude, which is why I've launched this Kickstarter campaign.
The Details
This CD/DVD package will be my third physical album release. The CD will feature over 30 minutes of live stand up comedy, performed and recorded in front of a sold out audience on September 30, 2011. The rest of the disc will be filled with funny songs ("Paul's Laserdisc Collection", "From Brian to Katy Perry", "Paul and Phil Are Friends" etc) and their accompanied videos on the DVD. Everything has already been recorded! By pre-ordering the CD/DVD you're helping me and my collaborators cover the cost of replication, shipping and artwork design.
The Crew
This project is a collaborative effort from production to design. I've reached out to talented friends to contribute their time and talents to design something that not only sounds great, but features artwork that's worthy of being held in your hands. Meet my friends:
Yosef is an amazing illustrator who I met over a decade ago in Boston. Yosef's created artwork for internationally known bands including the Dropkick Murphys, the Slackers and Big D and the Kids Table. Yosef's design resume includes work with Shepard Fairey of OBEY Giant. Yosef's original "the Other Dude" illustrations will be used for this CD/DVD and its promotion.
Michael Cirelli, photographer.
Mike's a graduate of Cleveland Institute of Art and an award winning photographer. His credits include Maxim Magazine as an associate photo editor and an on going partnership with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Cirelli's passion is fine art and teaching photography, but he's one hell of a skateboarder too. Mike will be shooting photo's specifically for this CD/DVD and its promotion.
Gary's work has been used by everyone from the Mighty Mighty Bosstones to Archie Comics and with non-profit groups like the Coalition for the Homeless. A graduate of Mass Art (Boston), Gary will be laying out the final design of the CD/DVD digipack.
Gary Cioffi Jr., audio engineer.
Cioffi is an accomplished audio engineer who owns Boston's Maximum Sound Studio. I worked with Gary on my first project, "Uncle Daddy", and was fortunate enough to have him record and mix all live sound for "the Other Dude" CD/DVD. Cioffi recently produced the highly anticipated "Listen and Forgive" from Boston pop punkers, Transit. The album features vocals from Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy on the track "All Your Heart".

Voted 2010 and 2011's "Best Comedian" by readers of NH's Hippo Press. Nick's been seen opening for and featured in a video with internet sensation, Bo Burnham of Comedy Central fame. Lavallee's own viral video with a legend of stage and screen, "I Love You, Sally Struthers" was featured on Funny or Die's front page. In 2012 Lavallee released "The Other Dude" a CD/DVD and MP3 album of musical comedy, stand up performance and their accompanied videos, which also featured indie superstars MC LARS, Noelle Leblanc, Tristan and Jim Keaney.
