Photo-main

The opiate gallery will serve as a safe-haven for artists on the creative edge of the art movement.

Theme

Karl Marx said that Religion was an Opiate for the masses. During tough times the lower and middle class need an outlet to pour themselves into. People are searching for an escape, a distraction, for hope.

As we begin to slowly climb out from this economic downturn we believe that art can serve the same purpose. The opiate gallery will be a getaway for the public. A place to get lost in imagination, a place to be inspired. Art can also be an Opiate for the masses.

The Gallery

The opiate gallery will serve as a safe-haven for artists on the creative edge of the art movement. If Fort Collins is to become a respected art destination in the world market we must begin to focus on the art and artists that are fearless in their dedication to creating their own voice visually. There are plenty of options in Fort Collins for traditional Western art, the opiate gallery will focus instead on those who are willing to take risks.

We will not discriminate based on content, only quality. This doesn’t mean that everything in our gallery will be edgy, simply that we will not set boundaries refusing edgy art. And without giving away too much before the opening – we will just say that the look is going to be out of this world!

The Program

For the aspiring artists there will be educational programs for both adult and youth conducted by opiate gallery artists. The gallery will also sponsor drawing events as well as other art workshops.

Get with the program, watch the video, support the arts. Thank you!
