Bringing our instrumental quartet (violin/lap-steel/cello/guitar) to the unsuspecting citizens of the great American West for three years and counting, The Missing Parts are about to embark on their third summer tour...
Only the van doesn't quite work.
It's pretty simple. The shows have been booked (with more still coming in), the brand new CD is on the way, and Tucson is getting hotter each passing day. The van even runs, mostly. It's just that sometimes you need to beat the starter with a crowbar to get the engine started. Last tour, the starter gave out entirely, and we managed to hotwire it with the parts from a dismantled TV and some duct tape. We'd like to avoid anything like that this year. It's time to get the van roadworthy again, which means we need a starter, tires, a window for the passenger side, and some routine maintenance. We figure that for about 500 bucks we'd be golden. Anything beyond that would put gas in the van and help us to get to the next town.
We'll be playing on the streets raising money to get us there, but we could use some help. In fact, we have a new CD coming out (with the release party set for June 4th) so if you are interested in buying a copy, you can do it here while helping to get us on the road. Not only will you get to hear the songs we've been brewing for the last year, but you can also get brand new merch, unreleased and rare recordings, a personal concert, and even the original artwork for the upcoming album by guitarist Paul Wright.

This CD was recorded before Oliver (violin) joined the band, and includes the original versions of 12 of the songs from "Folk Music from an Undiscovered Country". Only 300 were ever printed.
