About this project
My passion has always been art, but I wasn't always so sure of how to make it my means to live. I have always been an artist... ever since I picked up my first crayon. But to be honest, there are days the left side of my brain still gets in the way. It wasn't until I found photography that I realized that the two sides of my brain can have a happy marriage. But when I was introduce to tattooing, I found the very thing that saved and made my life. So, I decided to come up with a challenge for the year. But I wanted to involve people all over the world into my vision.
Starting on January 1st of 2011, I want to create a 365 day project that will turn into a book. I need to create 313 drawings (graphite, pen and ink or charcoal) or photos. Then, from those pieces I will create 52 paintings - one painting a week. I will use the inspiration I get for each finished painting.
Here is where you come in:
1. I need 313 words for inspiration. Just ONE word can launch each work of art. Not a description of what you want the painting or photo to look like, but more of what the word means to you or even the exact definition out of your Merriam-Webster so that I can interpret that into an image. PLEASE... no cuss words or obscene words. I think we can be a little more creative than that. Email your word to lolovesyou@gmail.com... Thanks!
2. Drawing or Photo. You decide what you would like to hang up in your home. If you choose a drawing, it will be 8"x10" and done in either graphite, pen and ink or charcoal. You will receive the original and I will make a digital file of it for the book. If you choose photo, I will only make one 8"x10" print and send it to you. The only other time I will print the image is for the book.
The book will be separated by month and the drawings or photos I create for the month will be displayed for the cover page of each month. Then your name and the city, state and country in which you reside will be listed on the back of each cover page.
3. Commission a painting!!! Honestly, this is the real reason I started this project. I wanted to do a painting a week. But how much more meaningful would it be if all kinds of people around the world actually inspired such a project? So, for only 30 buckaroos you can get an 8" x 10" painting. I will be doing one for each week. You receive the original and I will be making a digital file for the book.
Each painting gets a page in the book and on the back of each page will be your name and the city, state and country in which you reside. Also listed will be the words and definitions used for inspiration and a brief description of what the painting is wholly about.
4. GET THE BOOK!!! This will be a lovely 8"x10" hardbound book with premium lustre paper, perfect for your coffee table or office waiting area. There will only be 50 of 100 available on the site! I will selling the other 50 books at my tattoo shop, but only these 100 will be autographed with a special message for you. I want the people who support this project to be set apart from everyone else. Shipping will be calculated after the end of this project launch and you will be billed later at cost.

So, the most important pledges will be for the drawings and the paintings. My 365 won't be much of one without the art for the year! Please consider getting some original art by me. I will be making this book happen with your help. I want to make it a highly productive year and can't wait for the challenge. I would be lying if I said that I wasn't nervous and anxious. But I am being completely honest when I say that I am extremely excited to see what we can create together!
