Update #10: Most rewards have been sent + FUTURITY DISCOUNT

Posted on March 31

Hey Friends,

First of all, we have a discount code to come see FUTURITY at American Repertory Theater in Boston (two weeks left!) for all of you East Coasters or New Englanders who haven't seen the show yet or want to see it again! When buying tickets HERE, type in discount code STEAMBRAIN35 at check-out.

Also! Almost all rewards have been sent except:

1. The pet portraits - I am working on them - they take time! Those of you who bought them, however, will be receiving your FUTURITY albums very soon!

2. Anyone who bought just the vinyl (the 25 dollar reward package - there are about 35 of you). We are waiting on our next shipment of albums to arrive, which should be any day, and then we will send them out immediately! Shouldn't be much longer. Thanks for your patience - we are adding some goodies to your reward!

Thanks so much for your continued support!

Update #8: Answering Questions

Posted on February 22

Hello Backers!

We just want to say hi and let you know that we are currently working our butts off rehearsing Futurity (the musical) at American Repertory Theater in Cambridge Massachusetts. Some people have asked when they should expect to receive the album. We finished the album and are just waiting for it to arrive. WE will be receiving the album in the next few weeks, so YOU should all expect to receive the album sometime around the end of March to mid April. Until then, just know that we are thinking of all of you, and that the album sounds absolutely beautiful, and we could not be more proud. Seriously, you should have seen us listening to the vinyl samples and freaking out at the music library at Harvard. Photographic evidence below. Nerds were laughing at us.

You can check out all the info about the musical at A.R.T HERE. Get tickets! Spread the word! Your rewards are a-coming!

Thank you thank you for your generous support.

xoxo, The Lisps

Update #7: One Last FUTURITY show before we embark

Posted on January 8

Hello you beautiful backers of FUTURITY, you micro-producers, you generous, generous souls, and a happy new year to you all!

We are doing one last show in New York before we embark on our FUTURITY journey to Cambridge and Minneapolis!!

Tuesday January 10th we will be performing Songs from FUTURITY at Ars Nova at 8pm. If you missed us at Joe's Pub, or you just can't bear the thought of not seeing us again until May, or you just saw us and you just can't get "Steam Brain" out of your head, or whatever, do come. New songs, sexy clothes, punchy banter. Tickets HERE. Yes!!

I am proud to say that some of our 2011 New Years Resolutions were realized, such as finally making that Lisps cover of John Mayer's "Your Body is a Wonderland" (HERE), spawning, more songs about space less songs about love, and cooling it with the Pringles at gas stations. So without further ado:

Lisps 2012 New Years Resolutions:

1. Find true love.
2. Put on a fucking musical.
3. Passionate make-outs and passionate freak-outs.
4. Play one show where Cesar does all stage banter as Jar Jar Binks.
5. Become wildly successful.
6. Sammy and Lorenzo debut their Eagles (and Don Henley) cover band, The Seagulls. You. Are. Not. Ready. (Will the world ever be ready?)
7. JAZZ HANDS!
8. There will be no talk of weight ever in this band i.e saying "How fat are you?" is not the same as asking someone how much they weigh.
9. No more Commenting on what someone else in this band is wearing, especially 30 seconds before going on stage, unless it's telling them how great they look, and even still, that makes most of us uncomfortable.
10. Get a role as a scheming American on season four of Downton Abbey and make out with Mr. Bates (only applies to Sammy).
11. Lorenzo Wolff on lead vocals.
12. Fuck the bass, all sousaphone, all the time.
13. Hang out with Stephen Sondheim.
14. Get Ricky Martin to tweet us.

15. Fame and Fortune.

Thanks and see you on Tuesday!

xoxo

The Lisps are a New York-based assemblage of 21st century humans. They are most accurately described as the public/performative version of all the relationships you're struggling with.

The Lisps have formed, deformed and reformed over the last 3 years. They are an ever changing body of genius behavior. Like the mythic phoenix rising from the ashes of oblivion The Lisps are endlessly entertaining to themselves and their friends. Sometimes they argue with each other but they almost always agree to disagree and/or validate each others' point of view. The lisps have been on 2 humongous national tours and wowed thousands of Pro-American and Anti-American Americans with their outrageous live performances. They released their debut EP "The Vain, the Modest and the Dead" in 2006, their full-length album, "Country Doctor Museum" in January of 2008 and "Are we at the Movies?" in April 2011. The Lisps are currently working on their original musical "FUTURITY" which is the classic American tale of a Civil War soldier who is an aspiring Science-Ficton writer. "FUTURITY" debuted at the Zipper Factory in January 2009, with subsequent sold-out performances at Joe's Pub at the Public Theater, The Rudyard Kipling in Louisville Kentucky, and at HERE Arts. The Lisps will be world premiering "FUTURITY" at American Repertory Theater (A.R.T) in Spring of 2012, followed by a developmental residency at the Walker Arts Center in Minneapolis.
