Sgt Dunbar & the Hobo Banned

Has not connected their Facebook account.

Sgt Dunbar and the Hobo Banned is an indie/folk band and founder of Albany's B3nson Recording Collective. The band solidified into its eight piece line up in 2007, having written and recorded over 150 songs and playing more than 200 shows across the country -appearing at the Mountain Jam Festival, SXSW, the CMJ Music Marathon, Athens Popfest and opening for bands such as The Avett Brothers, Delta Spirit, The Felice Brothers, Rock Plaza Central, and Deer Tick.

The music of the Hobo Banned has a style even experienced music critics have had a hard time describing. On NPR's All Things Considered Bob Boilen called the Hobo Banned a band to watch at SXSW 09. " I can’t quite make this band out, but I do know they sound very different from most of the mostly guitar-based bands here.” Jim DeRogatis of the Chicago Sun Times said Sgt. Dunbar and the Hobo Banned "brought to mind a Salvation Army band playing in a junkyard while tripping on acid." However you choose to describe them, it can't be denied that this group of eight multi-instrumentalists and best friends has something unique.

Up to this point Sgt. Dunbar and the Hobo Banned have released three records, gone on several tours to places as far as Austin, TX and received national press attention all through their own hard work. The band is currently working on their third full length release and gearing up to get back out on the road as well as playing regular shows throughout the north east.
