These songs have stayed in my head for far too long. I have hundreds but I have pared them down to 12 that I feel are ready to show.
The video and produced song Sing with Me is a sampling of the quality talent we'll be working with to achieve our final product. Mike Yonts of Mike Yonts Films, Indianapolis Indiana and Dave Rust of Imagimedia Design Studio, Bloomington Indiana have been greatly instrumental, no pun intended, in helping us get a start on the project.
Sing With Me is only one song among the 12 and it is completed and you can check it out right here. The hardest part of this venture has been completed. The other 11 songs are written and planned out. What I need are the funds to kick off this project to create a 12 song CD called "L8 Boomers" which is a play on L8 Bloomers and Baby Boomers. The goal of L8Boomers is to have a professionally recorded CD to submit to record companies in hopes of attaining a label for The Jodie Boys.
One of the other songs is Baby Boomers and its a pretty rockin tune. If you are interested in helping us with this project but you want to hear what these songs sound like write to me at thejodieboys@gmail.com and I will send you a link to the roughs of these songs so you will have a general idea of what they sound like. The songs to be included on this first ever pressing of L8 Boomers will be:
Sing With Me, The Sure Thing, Your Mother's Mansion, Norman's Galoshes, Free Enterprise, New York, The Dead Inside Ourselves, She Walks in Beauty, The Moment of My Life, The Dead Inside Ourselves, Everybody's Buddy Holly, and Baby Boomers and perhaps a solo surprise tagged on the end (Songs subject to change depending what comes up in the next few weeks)
This will be a project you can always be excited to listen to for many years to come and you will know that you are a part of a beautiful piece of this magnificent art form if I do say so myself. And please remember that our time is tough right now so if you can only afford a dollar you will still definitely have my most gracious heart felt thanks. And the great thing to remember is that your contribution will only be drawn from your account if I raise the full $5500.

Of course first off I'll be sending it to my backers and I'm then going to market these songs to the music industry. I would hope at the least that L8Boomers will spike some interest from other artists and producers, but I need a demo to get the songs out to them. My schedule doesn't allow me to play out live very often, and I don't have star aspirations though I wouldn't shun it, but I want to make my own personal impression in the vast world of music with my songs and your help would be highly instrumental in making that dream come true!

My plan is to record as soon as possible after the campaign ends and be ready to press by the middle of August. Its all just waiting in the wings for funding. I'll be recording some in Indiana and a great deal here in the Greenville area with Wade Powell at Workhorse Studios in Easley. I've given myself a little breathing room by promising the backer rewards by December 2012. This year is passing mighty fast. I will have the rewards to you before the Mayan Calendar runs out, so please don't sweat that one!

I discussed the cost with Wade Powell at Workhorse and he helped me figure out the cost of his studio time plus professional musicians to job in for a day or two of recording. I also am blessed to have wonderful friend like my good buddy Dave Rust at Imagimedia Design Studio who has graciously offered to help with these recordings in anyway he can. Dave put together Sing With Me for me as we bounced the song back and forth via the internet and then I ventured to Bloomington Indiana for a few days to record the lead vocal and rhythm guitar parts. Dave was really great. All I had to cough up was my airfare. So you see, if I get funded, barring any natural or man made disasters, this project is happening and on budget. I hope you'll consider being a part of it.
