THE DROP: URBAN ART INFILL is an all–volunteer collaboration a team of of designers, architects and curators with developers in Chelsea to open up space in the city for public interactions with artists, producers, and city-dwellers.

In the spirit of participation, THE DROP: URBAN ART INFILL is a double call to urban inhabitants to interact with and contemplate the city as well as their relationship to the greater environment through the arts. The festival seeks to provide space in the center of Chelsea and bring together developers, business owners, the art community and New York communities to think locally and globally, intermingle, and stay a while.

THE DROP: opening party features street style live art performances, DJing, several food trucks and a bar and will take place in a vacant lot under New York's latest landmark, the High Line.

THE DROP: 2012+ is a curated exhibition which investigates the relationship of the urban-based artist and city dweller to their environs, from the city, to how they situate themselves in relationship to the environment on a global level.

your contribution will help us to cover the cost of the basic material for the opening party art performance event under the High Line. We are happy to have a lot of very generous sponsors on board, covering food, beer, wine, furniture, DJ's, and much more.

All organizers, artists and staff are volunteering on the project, but to kick it off we will need some cash as well. The $2,222 we are hoping to gain are really just a fragment of what we need, so feel free to go waaaaaay through the roof with us!
